Frightening to think about what is going to happen when the new idea “Smart Motorways” take off! Many people don’t yet know this, but the new idea is this; when you use the new Smart Motorway and your vehicle develops a fault that causes your vehicle to loose power and stops running.

Consequently, you the driver is then expected to slow down to a stop in whichever lane you are in. Accordingly, you will not be required to try and move over to the hard shoulder. So, it will not be there anymore, you simply stop in whichever lane your vehicle breaks down in.

Managing Halifax’s Wet Roads: Aquaplaning and Bald Tyres

Greetings, fellow citizens of Halifax! Rainy weather, the horror of treadless tyres and aquaplaning, and other everyday tribulations are topics that are near and dear to our hearts and commutes, so let’s talk about them today. The safety of our local roads is at stake, not only a damp road. Without mentioning our neighbourhood tyre specialists at Pellon Tyres, we would be remiss in delving into this topic.

Think about this:

As you make your way through Halifax, the skies decide it’s the best moment to unleash a torrential deluge. The world appears to be dressed in its finest shade of grey, and the roads reflect the light. At that moment, the unsettling feeling of your car seemingly dancing to its own beat sets in. It is my pleasure to introduce you to aquaplaning.

But how does aquaplaning work precisely?

That exhilarating feeling you get when you’re driving through Halifax on a water slide instead of the road because your tyres lose traction because of the water.

Now we can incorporate bald tyres into this scenario. Old, worn-out treads, or bald tyres, aren’t the best choice for driving in the rain. Our cherished local roads are in danger because their weakened grip makes it difficult for them to push away the water.

The bad bits

So, compared to their well-treaded counterparts, bald tyres aren’t very good at dispersing water. Cruising through Halifax or the M62 motorway on a wet day can be quite the experience due to the layer of water trapped between your tyres and the asphalt.

But have no fear; the local tyre champs, Pellon Tyres, have come to rescue the day. Their extensive background and familiarity with Halifax’s specific topography and climate allow them to provide you with the ideal answers to ensure your safety and command.

Tyres made to withstand rain are only one of several options available from Pellon Tyres. They have the perfect tyres to keep you safe on Halifax’s difficult roads, whether it’s raining or there’s an unexpected heavy shower.

However, the safety of our community is more important than making a profit from tyre sales. When you visit Pellon Tyres, you can expect helpful, knowledgeable advice from a staff that takes pleasure in assisting customers in selecting the best tyres for their vehicles.

Ultimately, when it comes to the rainy roads of Halifax

nothing is more dangerous than aquaplaning and bald tyres. However, you may avoid problems by arming yourself with knowledge and purchasing the correct tyres from Pellon Tyres. Keep your tyres in great condition by visiting the reliable local specialists at Pellon Tyres whenever you need advice or new tyres. No matter the weather, let’s stay on the roads of Halifax and keep our cars firmly planted!

As we all know, this has been one of the wettest years here in the UK. I say this because when I was driving along the M62 motorway, I noticed that many parts of the motorway were flooded and had large areas of standing water. On all the carriageways. This meant one thing to me:AQUAPLANING”.

Unfortunately, we know this in the tyre industry. That many motorists are putting off buying new replacement tyres. All our sales figures are down. So the mixture of bald tyres on these very wet roads is a disaster waiting to happen. As I am writing this blog some motorists will be experiencing aquaplaning when driving along the motorway at speed with no tread left on their tyres, as I say this is a disaster waithttps://www.pellonautocentre.com/tyre-wear/ing to happen and it will happen, “mark my word”

What is aquaplaning on Bald Tyres ?

Of course, aquaplaning is a word that became synonymous with a Goodyear Tyres advert in the 1970s. Now becoming a very important word. Because of our changing climate and faster roads with increasing traffic numbers. Aquaplaning, means that your wheel loses contact with road surface. In affect, due to a thin layer of water between the tyre and the road surface.

The driver loses control of his car very often causing an accident. Certainly, a good tyre with more than 3 mm of remaining tread. Of course, will push the water away as the car drives through the water at speed.  Giving good grip and safer driving  conditions. All the leading  manufacturers design their tyres with aquaplaning (Driving in Wet Weather) as one of the main aspects of design.

Michelin  have even developed a system called “the anti-surf system” to enable their products to give maximum grip when going through areas of static water on the roads, this system is built into the Michelin Pilot sports 3. This tyre has also got added shoulder design to help push the water away and help delay the onset of aquaplaning.

  6. Warranty: Continental offers a variety of tyre warranties, including a 30-day test drive and a mileage warranty, to ensure that you get the best value for your money. Importantly, these warranties do not apply to the United Kingdom tyre market. Individual tyre retailers offer their own warranty systems.
  7. Continental Tyres Winners: Many motorists decide that they would like to fit Continental tyres on their vehicles.

Many motorists decide that they would like to fit Continental tyres on their vehicles. These tyres are a popular choice for those who live in the wetter areas of the UK. This is because this is just one of the many good points that we bestow on the brand of tyre made by Continental that is fitted to their vehicles, as it has been proven to perform well in these weather conditions.

A large number of accidents have resulted in personal injuries. Continental Tyres Winners

That is what happens when the roads are extremely wet and slick. You’ll also find that road accidents are twice as likely to happen. Of course, on wet roads as well. including another important factor ! Not to mention that the majority of these vehicles will be running on bald tyres.

because of these accidents. Drivers tend to go for tyres that will keep them as safe as possible. especially during the bad weather. So, helping them to minimise the risk of being involved in an accident It’s so important to make sure that you’re taking extra care. especially when driving in bad conditions. finding that many people on the roads are driving. Consequently, without the correct tyres fitted to their vehicle,.

Most people tend to think that the reason for driving in wet conditions. Continental Tyres Winners

So, this causes accidents. because of the spray and the loss of visibility. The main danger, of course, is the risk of aquaplaning (continental tyres are excellent wet-weather tyres). The cause of aquaplaning is a layer of water that forms between the tyre and the road, which then reduces the tyre’s grip and means that contact is lost with the road. The car could then go out of control, causing an accident.

The way that Continental Tyres  have been designed Of course, she makes sure that they perform to their best ability. Most importantly, when the weather outside is very wet, the purpose of tyres is to disperse as much water away from the road as possible . So,  by using centre drainage channels and having many water-dispersing “sipes,” they will successfully increase the grip on the wet road. Aquaplaning is minimal and significantly reduced when using this brand.

It’s still worth remembering, though, Continental Tyres Winners

that your Continental tyres must be in good condition with a good tread area; a bald tyre, whatever the make, will be dangerous on all road conditions.

Do not forget that the UK is traditionally a very wet country and also treats road safety as very important, and although Continentals  are an excellent brand, any new tyre will be a thousand times better in all driving conditions than a “bald” tyre. It is most important at all times of the year to have your tyres checked at regular intervals and to always invest in a good make of tyres, such as Continental tyres.

Waste tyres problem improving

Waste TYRES problem improving; Here in Halifax we dispose of 150 to 200 tyres per week.

A few years ago, the European Union made it against the law for counsels to accept old used tyres in their landfill sites. This became a big problem for us tyre retailers. Where do we get rid of the old waste tyres?

It wasn’t long before businesses were set up. Hence, collect the old scrap and dispose of it. Naturally, in an environmentally friendly way. Thus, with the waste tyre problem improving,. We were charged £1 per item  to have them collected. Accordingly, this was passed on to the customers. Because the old ones were their property and not ours.

Britain produces well over 100,000 waste scrappers every day.

Therefore, methods of disposal had to be found quickly. The first thing that was done. Was to produce machines that could shred the old casings up. Hence, separate the steel wire chords for steel recycling. Of course, the rubber was made into tyre crumbs and bagged up for re-use.

Many of the larger  companies are looking for chemical methods to turn the old rubber into new rubber so the old chippings can be used to make new products again, but although some progress has been made, they are still a while away from making it happen. My own personal experience is that they will succeed and new tyres will be made from the  old rubber. All this was to help with the waste tyres problem improving.

Waste TYRES problem improving

In the meantime, the rubber crumbs from old tyres are now used for a number of things. Some are added to tarmac and used for road surfacing, especially in the USA and now here in the UK. Some are used to power the drying kilns in cement mixing plants. Many of the larger tyres are remoulded, which offers cheap tyres to hauliers. Remoulds are still not very popular with motorists, and there are only a small number of companies that make remoulds. These crumbs from old tyres are

also made into children’s play areas; indeed, we have a company here in Halifax that does this. They are also made into carpet underlay and athletic tracks, including play ground surfaces.

Old tyres are used under the sea now

One good invention in the USA turns the rubber crumbs into paving blocks: rubber flooring, and the old tyres are now used under the sea to create artificial barrier reefs and stop tidal erosion. I was critical of the EU at first, but stopping land fill has forced us to look for new ways to dispose of our old tyres.

I think that in a few years time there will be no “old tyre problem” and disposal will be free of charge, and perhaps they might go back to the old days and start buying the old scrap off us again instead of us having to pay. Also, rubber crumbs can be blended with natural rubber.

Three people perished in September 2012 as a result of a coach’s devastating tyre breakdown. The accident investigator came to the conclusion that the front axle’s 19-year-old tyre’s advancing age was to blame for the failure.

This has come as no surprise to me.

As the owner of a tyre business, I can’t help looking at the tyres on vehicles that I pass. As a Huddersfield Town fan, I often go to away matches by coach. Some of these coaches are very old indeed. The tyres can be in bad condition. Personally, I have never been on a coach with tyre problems, but I have thought on many occasions that the tyres were an accident waiting to happen.

There was no forensic evidence. Ten Year Old Tyres Ban

available at the time to identify or characterise how the tyre’s construction had broken down throughout the course of its years of use. The Secretary of State for Transport did, however, warn coach owners and operators that tyres older than 10 years should no longer be used at the steering axle (front) of coaches or buses after the study.

In response to the Secretary of State for Transportation’s recommendation, the Department of Transportation authorised a thorough investigation. Thorough research and scientific advice have demonstrated that age affects the performance of numerous components of a tyre, all of which are essential to its overall integrity and road safety.

Ten-Year-Old Tyres Ban Ten-Year-Old Tyres Ban. Ten Year Old Tyres Ban

So, when looking at this recent change in the tyre law, I am a little bemused! In fact, this is the first time that I have ever heard of any problems with the age of tyres reaching ten years. Consequently, the problem looks like it has derived from the truck tyre market. As far as I know, this does not apply to car or van tyres.

Especially buses and the smaller minibus tyre market.

Of course, the attached article gives all the hard details. The fact that the vehicle had tyres older than ten years makes me assume that there was some sort of accident. I really do not know!

“The Impact of the UK’s Ban on 10-Year-Old Tyres”

Greetings, Have you been informed about the most recent regulation being implemented on our roadways in the United Kingdom? The focus is on tyres, notably those that are more than 10 years old. For many of us in Halifax and beyond, tyres may not be an exciting subject unless you share my passion for everything automotive. However, this recent prohibition has become a prominent subject of discussion, and rightfully so.

The intricate details of the ban

What is the situation? Effective immediately, buses, coaches, lorries, and minibuses are prohibited from operating on tyres over 10 years of age. You may be contemplating, “Well, that does not have an impact on my small vehicle.” Indeed, however, the paramount concern is road safety, which has a universal impact, does it not?

What is the reason for the ban?

As tyres age, their reliability diminishes, resembling the unpredictability of a bright day in Yorkshire. The likelihood of failure grows with age, irrespective of the remaining tread. Safety experts and thorough investigations support this decision, so it is not arbitrary. The primary objective is to mitigate accidents resulting from tyre malfunctions, which, candidly speaking, is the least desirable occurrence on our roadways.

Effects on Local Enterprises

For the local entrepreneurs operating transport businesses in Halifax and the surrounding areas, this prohibition necessitates additional effort and logistical planning. It pertains to doing routine inspections and closely monitoring the age of the tyres. Indeed, although it may involve additional inconvenience, if it results in a more secure voyage for all individuals, it is a negligible cost, correct?

What about we ordinary motorists?

Although the restriction does not specifically target personal vehicles, it serves as a significant reminder, doesn’t it? What is the frequency at which we inspect the age of our tyres? Likely as frequently as we recall to bring a reusable bag to the supermarket (indeed, I am also culpable!). However, it serves as a valuable reminder to thoroughly inspect the tyres, not just for tread depth but also for their age.

An Examination of the Broader Context

This action clearly demonstrates our transition towards prioritising road safety. It is not solely about speed limits and seatbelts; rather, it is the intricate details, such as the age of the tyres, that can have a significant impact. This initiative aims to enhance road safety, not only in Halifax or Yorkshire but throughout the entire United Kingdom.

Concluding

Therefore, the next time you are outside, perhaps consider the age of your tyres. To maintain a competitive edge in the transportation industry, it is crucial to conduct frequent inspections. It is essential to ensure the safety of our roadways, just as the comfort of a well-prepared cup of tea.

Ensure your safety while on the road, and if you have any doubts regarding your tyres, you can always reach out to me.

Dunlop Sports Maxx Tyres launches a new breed of “sports TYRES”

Dunlop is a brand of tyres that has a long history dating back to the late 19th century. Of course, it has always been known as a great British company. John Boyd Dunlop, a Scottish veterinarian, founded the business first. So, the first practical pneumatic tyre was developed in 1888. The tyre was invented to improve the ride of his son’s tricycle. However, it quickly gained popularity and was soon being used on bicycles and other vehicles.

In the early 20th century, Dunlop Sports Maxx Tyres

Dunlop expanded its operations to include the production of car tyres. Over the years, the company has continued to innovate and develop new tyre technologies. Including the introduction of the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyre in the late 1990s.

This is the person I started my first tire-related job with. So, the period from 1960 to the early 1970s would be one of great acquisitions for the major tyre companies. exhilarated by the fact that the working man could now afford to buy his first car.

Companies such as Dunlop started a spending spree-Dunlop Sports Maxx Tyres

Of course, we are buying out small and medium-sized retailers across the United Kingdom. This was to build a nationwide business to sell their particular brand of tyres. Dunlop developed many types of tyres throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including the SP Sport Maxx.

The SP Sport Maxx is a high-performance tyre from Dunlop Sports Maxx Tyres

that was designed for use on sports cars and other high-performance vehicles. It has a directional tread pattern, a special compound for better grip and handling, and a number of other high-tech features that make it perform and handle better than other tyres.

Today, Dunlop is a well-known and respected brand in the tyre industry, and its products are used on a wide range of vehicles around the world. The company has a wide range of tyres for cars, SUVs, trucks, buses, and more, and it continues to be on the cutting edge of tyre technology and innovation.

Customers are still not sure which 4×4 Tyres by General to choose

This article is a follow-up to one that I did a few years ago. Owners of 4×4 vehicles who are unsure of which tyres to fit to their vehicles are one of the issues we face at Pellon Tyres.

Off-road tyres are designed for use on rough, uneven terrain, such as trails, muddy roads, and other surfaces that are not paved. They typically have a more aggressive tread pattern and are made from a more durable compound than tyres designed for use on paved roads.

Hilly areas are the best place to spot 4×4 Tyres by General vehicles.

Here in Halifax, United Kingdom, we are in a very hilly area made up of the surrounding Pennine hills. As a result, 4×4 tyres are among our best sellers. Consequently, we do sell many different brands of 4×4 tyres.

The treads on off-road tyres are designed to provide traction on a variety of surfaces, including dirt, mud, gravel, and rocks. They also have sidewalls that are stiffer to give more support and stability when driving on rough terrain. Off-road tyres are commonly used on vehicles such as trucks, SUVs, and ATVs.

Every tyre a manufacturer makes is designed with specific strengths in mind.

How well it works with these strengths depends on how it was built, what materials were used, and what technologies were used during design and testing. 4×4 tyres by definition, introduce even more variables than these into the mixing pot.

We recommend a 50/50 or 40/60 tread ratio between a standard summer tyre and a rugged off-road tyre for our area. To make it a little easier to select the right one, a good place to start is to think about what you intend to use your 4×4 for. Many people used to say the Land Rover was just a status car, while others, such as farmers, needed Land-rovers for more practical uses, so a different tyre application was needed.

If you intend to use your vehicle off-road, you must first determine how difficult the terrain will be and how much time you will spend on it. Farmers would be doing far more off-road work, necessitating a much heavier tread pattern on the tyres.

6 Best 4×4 tyres in United Kingdom (not in order of quality or choice)

  1. Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure: These tyres are designed for off-road performance and feature an aggressive tread pattern and durable construction.
  2. BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2: These tyres are specifically designed for muddy conditions and feature an aggressive tread pattern and strong sidewalls.
  3. Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO 3: These all-terrain tyres are designed for a smooth ride on and off the road and have a long tread life.
  4. Cooper Discoverer STT Pro: These tyres are designed for off-road performance and feature a durable construction and aggressive tread pattern.
  5. Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015: These all-terrain tyres are designed for a smooth ride on and off the road and have a long tread life.
  6. Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus: These tyres are designed for a variety of off-road conditions and feature a durable construction and aggressive tread pattern.

It’s important to note that the best tyre for your 4×4 will depend on your specific needs and driving conditions. It’s always a good idea to do your own research and consider factors such as tread life, off-road performance, and road noise when choosing the right tyres for your vehicle.

Off Road Grading Index for 4×4 Tyres by General

To help our customers, we use a very good visual guide called an “off-road grading index,” or ORGI for short, and then grade all the 4×4 tyres accordingly on our stock list so that we can tell customers exactly which tyre is best for them.

The ORGI guide assigns every 4X4 Off Road tyres we feature an off-road competency rating between 1 & 10. From here, it is possible to disregard certain tyres as unsuitable and narrow the field of selection.

It works of an easy-to-understand scale from 1 to 10 depending on how tough you want your tyre to be, and is an excellent grading system. I hope this will be of help to all my customers who own 4×4 and SUV vehicles and want General 4×4 tyres.

Michelin Tyres World Beaters

As a tyre retailer in Halifax, Yorkshire, UK I can tell you that Michelin is not the easiest tyre manufacturer to deal with. Therefore, we sell Michelin products, but through a third-party wholesaler. Over the years, I have tried to deal directly with Michelin. But I find that they are not flexible enough for a small tyre business like mine.

Of course, I think very highly of the Michelin tyre products. In my opinion, they are the best tyres in the world. Of course, other tyres are starting to catch up, but they are well in front at the moment. Below the video is text that is well worth reading.

After 50 Years in the Tyre Industry, Here’s Why Michelin Is Still Number One

Hey there, pals! As I reflect on my half-century career in the tyre industry, I am taking a little trip down memory lane today. Although the road has been filled with unexpected turns, Michelin Tyres World Beaters, have remained constant. As far as tyres go, I think they’re the lowest of the low. I will explain to you why.

Before anything else, know that Michelin isn’t your run-of-the-mill tyre maker;

They’re more like the sage old owl who lives in the tyre forest. When it comes to inventiveness, they are unmatched. Tyre after tyre has been released by them throughout the years, and each one has been better than the last. It’s not merely about being more durable or having better rolling characteristics (though they excel at both); what really distinguishes them is their commitment to safety.

Look at what they’ve accomplished before. When it comes to innovations in safety, Michelin Tyres World Beaters, have always been in the vanguard. Their relentless pursuit of perfection is evident in every aspect they test, be it wet grip, braking efficiency, or fuel economy. Their ability to anticipate drivers’ needs seems to surpass that of the drivers themselves!

However, Michelin isn’t going to sit on their success for long.

They have an eye for the future and are leaders in developing innovative technology that will make tyres safer, more efficient, and less harmful to the environment. More than just tyres, they’re influencing how we travel in the years to come. The weather in the United Kingdom is notoriously unpredictable, so it’s vital to have a reliable tyre that won’t fail you.

In my Halifax garage-Michelin Tyres World Beaters

I’ve witnessed a wide variety of tyres come and go. All of them have succeeded, from the most inexpensive to the most luxurious. Michelin tyres, however, consistently get the thumbs up from buyers. When you have one, you can relax knowing that your loved ones are in the hands of true professionals while you’re on the road.

Finally, after fifty years in the industry, my belief that Michelin is at the forefront of tyre innovation and safety is stronger than ever. Michelin tyres are a terrific investment, whether you’re blasting around Halifax or meandering through the Yorkshire countryside. And keep in mind that we are only one of many local businesses that can assist you in finding the perfect tyres for your vehicle.

Good driving, and may you avoid accidents.

Not surprisingly, Michelin is a leading tyre company and is known for producing high-quality tyres for a wide range of vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, and bicycles. The company was founded in 1889 by the Michelin brothers, and it is headquartered in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

Michelin is known for its commitment to innovation and has developed a number of pioneering technologies over the years, including the radial tyre, which revolutionised the tyre industry. The company also produces a range of specialised tyres for different applications, such as winter tyres, off-road tyres, and tyres for high-performance vehicles.

In terms of ranking-Michelin Tyres World Beaters

it is difficult to say exactly where Michelin stands among all of the tyre companies in the world, as there are many factors that can affect a company’s ranking. My own opinion after  a fifty-year run in the tyre industry is that Michelin makes the best tyre products in the world. Michelin is widely considered to be one of the top tyre companies in the world, and it is known for producing high-quality tyres. Of course, many prestigious automakers use those and consumers trust them.

How Its Made Michelin Tyre

The Clermont-Ferrand region of France is home to Michelin, a well-known tyre brand on a global scale. On May 28th, 1889, the business opened for business, and two years later it received its first patent for a removable pneumatic tyre. The Michelin Red Guide was released in 1900, and the Michelin Sports Association was founded in 1911. It constructed the world’s first paved runway in 1916.

The company ran sizable rubber plantations in Vietnam

between 1920 and 1930, during which time it also developed the pneumatic tyre for railroad trains and the “Micheline” locomotive. The tyre manufacturer first introduced the self-supporting or run-flat tyre in 1934. This company got a patent for the innovative radial tyre in 1946. It later used the same radial technology to make truck tyres.

So, in the tyre trade, we often come across new ideas that seem to spring from nowhere.

For this reason, I was pleased to see this video from outside of Australia. Of course, the internet has made this a small world. Therefore, we can now all speak to each other by email, and distance is no barrier.

I happen to be the owner of Pellon Tyres here in Halifax, UK. Accordingly, I like to provide the best equipment and service to my customers. Hence, over the years, I have tried many new types of services to help enhance our customers experiences. Also to keep up to date with the latest gadgets that hit the marketplace.

Nitrogen used in tyre inflation is not a new thing.

The national tyre companies were the first to use commercially. I believe that it was first designed to be used on the motorsport scene. Naturally, this is the first place that tyre manufacturers experiment with new tyres and associated products. Including. nitrogen to inflate tyres with.

I did, however, have my doubts?. Tyre companies were trying to charge extra, similar to new “tubeless valves” in the old days. During the period of my interest in the product, I asked a round various suppliers that provided the machines. Of course, this was at trade shows. I received a mixed reaction. This depended on how keen a salesman was in selling me a machine.

Nitrogen Tyre Inflation (no thanks)

However, I still had my doubts as to the advantages of using nitrogen to fill tyres. In the early days of tubeless tyres, water became a problem. The compressors that we used produced water as well as air. Hence, this water would enter the tyres. This would not be acceptable. In the following years, various filter were added to the compressors and the water was filtered out. Thus producing clean air.

I eventually went against the idea of using nitrogen

only and we have had no problems whatsoever. This video endorses my decision.

Bald Car Tyres can be killers

My name is Eric Roberts, and I am the owner of Pellon Tyres in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Incredibly, I have never seen so many bad tyres. Removed from customers wheels. Hence, in 40 years of trading as a tyre business,. These bald tyres are a danger.

Hence, to all other road users:. Of course, and the people who drive about with them on. Car tyre prices have escalated threefold. In the past two years,. Consequently, due to the cost increase in the raw materials,

That goes on to make tyres. Bald Car Tyres are lethal

Also, cheap tyres are flooding the European tyre dealers. So, causing a battle for cheap car tyres. Therefore, between all the tyre manufacturers, This is helping to stabilise the price increases. But only very slowly.

We have all had to cut back in these difficult times, but to cut back on buying car tyres will put the vehicle owner and other motorists in great danger. Everybody should change their tyres before they become bald tyres. There is nothing worse. Then I came across a heavy shower after a beautiful, sunny day.

Hence, a car with bald tyres. Will start to skid on the wet surface. Thus, it could cause an accident through aquaplaning. For this reason, this is when the tyre is separated. Thus, from the road surface on a wet road, sometimes due to a bald tyre on a wet road, this causes the tyre to lose grip, and then the loss of the car’s steering causes an accident to happen.

When there is a thin layer of water separating your bald tyres from the road surface, your tyre does not grip because of the absence of tread on the tyre, and the car can go in any direction when the brakes are applied, according to R.O.S.P.A this is the cause of many highway crashes.

Also, you may have seen F1 cars during a race. In dry weather, the racing cars are fitted with bald tyres (called slicks), but when the weather turns wet, the cars are changed to tyres that have a tread pattern. This is the same for an average car; it is highly dangerous to drive on “bald” tyres and also illegal.

Use your sense and buy new tyres; even cheap tyres are better than “bald tyres.”

A large section of public car drivers do obey the law when it comes to replacing their tyres. We have been very busy since last November, and not all the people that run about on bald tyres are far from it. Many of our customers are looking for car tyre prices, only to find that we can compete with our top internet competitors.
