Pellon Autocentre Leaves Unipart

Eric Roberts, MD of Pellon Auto Centre, recently attended a regional meeting of Unipart Car Care Centres (UCCC). This was in a hotel in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. New plans that mean that Pellon Autocentre joins Unipart were unveiled to upgrade their new image among garage members.

UCCC members will be offered complete new signage. Consequently, by using Unipart’s updated logo,. This logo is very similar to the present one. Because it appeared that there was only a slight modification to upgrade. Eric Roberts says, “The new image looks very stylish. Although there is not much change, the new design will look very useful. Especially when bonded together with all the other promotional effects that will be on offer to us.

Our garage images are in the Unipart style and colours.” Pellon Autocentre Leaves Unipart

Unipart will still provide their garage network with their website design service to help their individual garages build their websites.

In keeping with the previous system, Unipart will be funding this service. This offer has been taken up by over 500 garages and has become a favourite feature for the garages in the scheme.
Motorcodes will still play a significant part in Unipart’s big changes; this will ensure an excellent standard of quality across the complete network. Therefore, it is crucial when offering a nationwide warranty service to the network’s
customers.

A brand new feature will be the introduction of Ben Collins (the former “sting” from the Top Gear motoring programme on TV). Ben will be helping promote the Car Care Centres at a national and local levels, holding regular events across the country.
Another new feature will be the introduction of more training facilities. Garages participating will have access to Unipart’s technical helpline and training staff support. “This Pellon Autocentre leaving Unipart service will be of great use to participating garages such as ourselves,” says Eric Roberts.

Unipart will be revamping the existing web site.

This website will be fully optimised and search engine-friendly. Links to participating member websites. Furthermore, offering the partners a right online image with the facilities to offer online service and MOT booking.

Furthermore, the new workwear was also on display for the garage owners to browse over, and the meeting concluded with a buffet. Unipart’s marketing director, Wendy Williams, conducted the meeting in a very professional manner, and it felt that all the participating centre members in attendance were looking forward to the new changes with great anticipation.

The latest 2020 update to our total independence- Pellon Autocentre Leaves Unipart

Lastly, I have recently made a decision to leave the Unipart setup. Importantly, the organisation has recently come under pressure from other similar trade groups. So, in the final analysis I thought that we should move forward as an independent garage being able to trade with all the trade groups.

Given these points, I believe that the car parts replacement market has also had a recent shake up. So, giving us the opportunity to buy parts and service parts at better prices for our customers. Generally speaking, trade is very good following the recent “Corvid 19” MOT Testing restrictions. Here at Pellon Autocentre we are now free from any motoring organizations and totally independent.

The next organisation to follow were Point-S. I did try and see what the benefits would be. However it was to become another disappointing large organisation without much clout?

Diesel particulate Filters Law: 2014 Must use the correct Oil

Diesel particulate Filters Law

Oil helps reduce vehicle emissions

New laws are making car manufacturers vastly reduce the emissions of new models that they produce. One of the ways to do this is by fitting complicated exhaust after-treatment units to their cars. It means that new low-sample oil must be used to protect these units. New laws will be coming out in 2014 to reduce emissions even further. For further reading, follow “Diesel net”.

Another large change that is now becoming more common is the development of the “extended service intervals”, This means that the car owner needs to use special long-life oils to meet the extra demands of the longer service intervals. Most service centres will have the computer technology to state the exact oil that the car requires, but things are becoming more difficult for the DIY motorists amongst us.

New Diesel particulate filters Law: Indeed, using the wrong oil in your car can cost you around £2500

For a new engine unit, this is the average cost of a family-sized saloon engine replacement. I am not trying to scaremonger, but the stuff in your engine is becoming more critical. The number of 5W-30 oil types now used on modern cars has increased dramatically; this is because of the number of reasons introduced by the car manufacturers.

Any motorist getting this wrong will end up in trouble and possibly with a large bill. It is now becoming more important to have your vehicle serviced at a reputable service centre. Even an engine service will be better than nothing. Do not forget that good service centres will have all the help from the oil companies to make sure that they get the correct product for their car.

The wrong oils will block up your diesel particulate filter or poison your three-way catalytic converter, all at a terrible cost. Also, do not forget to get the correct oil mix, for example, synthetic or semi-synthetic oils. Or even diesel or petrol oils, all have different properties, so if in doubt,. So, have your car serviced by professionals, and don’t take the risk of a damaged engine.

Indeed! Now, let’s explore the realm of Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) and their mechanisms for minimising vehicle emissions, with a hint of local relevance.

Ensuring Air Quality: The Role of Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) in Maintaining Clean Air in Halifax and the UK

Located in the centre of Halifax and around the United Kingdom, our passion for automobiles is boundless. However, we are also becoming more conscious of the imperative to maintain clean air. An approach we are employing is the utilisation of Diesel Particulate Filters, commonly referred to as DPFs. These innovative devices serve a crucial role in mitigating emissions from vehicles powered by diesel engines, resulting in cleaner roads and fresher air.

Grasping the Fundamentals: Diesel particulate Filters Law

DPFs function as the respiratory system of your diesel car, and this is the mechanism by which they operate:

  1. Capturing Particulate Matter: During the operation of your diesel engine, it generates minuscule particles referred to as particulate matter (PM). These particles significantly contribute to the contamination of the air. This is the point at which the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) becomes relevant.
  2. It is an intelligent apparatus integrated into the exhaust system of your vehicle. The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) effectively collects and retains hazardous particulate matter (PM) particles when exhaust fumes flow through it.
  3. Regeneration Process: DPFs do not possess magical properties. Over time, the airways might accumulate obstructions from the trapped particles.
  4. This is the point at which the regeneration process begins. The engine management system of your car checks the condition of the DPF and periodically increases the exhaust temperature to incinerate the particles that are trapped in it.
  5. It is like thoroughly cleansing your DPF.

Incorporating a Regional Influence: Diesel particulate Filters Law

Diesel-fueled machinery has been present in significant amounts in Halifax, which is known for its prosperous industrial past. Diesel engines have had a substantial impact on our community, influencing many industries, such as textile mills and transportation. Currently, by using Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs), we are actively contributing to the improvement of air quality in our historic streets.

The advantages:

DPFs effectively decrease the release of noxious pollutants, such as soot and particle matter, guaranteeing improved air quality for our communities.

Fuel Efficiency:

Cleaner engines typically exhibit higher fuel efficiency, resulting in cost savings at the fuel station. This situation is advantageous both for your finances and for the natural world.

DPFs contribute to the longevity of your vehicle by promoting engine cleanliness and minimising mechanical deterioration.

In conclusion: Diesel particulate Filters Law

As citizens of Halifax and the UK, it is crucial that we persist in adopting technologies such as Diesel Particulate Filters. These initiatives not only help improve air quality but also support our dedication to conserving our local heritage and promoting a sustainable future for future generations.

When driving your diesel-powered vehicle, keep in mind that the DPF is actively working to maintain clean streets and fresh air in Halifax. This is a modest but important contribution towards a more environmentally friendly and healthier city.

Starting an Auto Repair Service in the UK-A Brief Guide

    Starting an Auto Repair Service

    Starting an Auto Repair Service

Whether you’re a car enthusiast or just someone who is looking for an evergreen business idea. So,  starting a car repair service can wind up being a very profitable endeavour. However, it’s not exactly an easy business model to become familiar with. Especially if you don’t know anything about cars and the complexities that come with fixing and maintaining them. While you don’t necessarily need to be a qualified mechanic to own a repair service. Of course, it certainly would help to be knowledgeable in the field before you set up shop. Regardless of your skill and expertise level! Here are some of the steps that will be involved in starting your own car repair service in the UK.

    1. Incorporate and Insure the Company

Incorporating your repair service as a limited company is generally the best approach. As it will provide the most legal protection by separating the debts of the business from your personal debt obligations. Any business that is going to be operating in the vehicle repair industry. Naturally, should obtain some form of motor trade insurance. This kind of insurance will ensure that your company and staff are covered when working on customer vehicles. You can use Quotezone.co.uk to quickly fetch motor trade insurance quotes from the UK’s top providers. Quotezone provides a convenient, centralised interface where you can compare all sorts of insurance policies.

    2. Know the Costs of Doing Business

It’s important to understand that car repair shops can come with a significant amount of overheads and operating expenses, including the cost of paying rent or mortgage for the shop itself, mechanic labour, waste disposal, electricity, equipment purchases, and advertising. You’ll most likely need to obtain a waste carrier license with the Environment Agency in order to dispose of hazardous materials like batteries, tyres, and oil. Mapping out a detailed budget will help you prepare for these expenses so that you’re not caught off-guard later on.

    3. Establish Relationships with Suppliers

The suppliers you deal with will have a major impact on your bottom line because they will determine how much of your revenue goes towards purchase orders every month. A typical car repair shop in the UK can deal with as many as 30 suppliers or more on regular basis. The manager of the business should be prepared to deal with suppliers over the phone an average of 10-20 times per day. You may want to use a spreadsheet or contact management software to keep track of all your suppliers in one place.

    4. Starting an Auto Repair Service-Assemble a Team of Mechanics

Of course, you can’t repair more than one vehicle at a time if you don’t have a small team of mechanics to help with the labour. Generally, it’s best to start with at least 2-4 mechanics on staff to ensure you won’t be left inundated with work during your first month in business. You should try to only employ experienced mechanics, especially during the initial momentum-building stage, as you can’t afford mishaps or dissatisfied customers in the early goings.

    5. Keep Up with Accounting and Record Keeping

Most car repair shops in the UK perform accounting tasks at the end of every business day. So,  keeping a thorough record of outgoing invoices and purchase invoices. It’s also common to use lever arch files. Consequently, that simplify the process of sifting through the records for specific moths in retrospect. Due to the amount of parts and materials that car shops purchase and sell each month, staying on top of the accounting is definitely one of the most challenging aspects of running a business in this industry.

    6. Starting an Auto Repair Service-Invest in Local Advertising

Once your repair service is in business, it’s time to start attracting your first customers with an aggressive and proactive local marketing campaign. This can include investing in regional search engine optimisation (SEO) or paying for TV, radio, and newspaper ads. The idea is to spread brand awareness so
that your prospective customers know how to contact you and where you’re located when they have problems with their vehicles.

    7. Place Customer Service as the Highest Priority

Any skilled mechanic can repair a car, but not all shops are honest and courteous during the process. Take pride in offering top-notch customer care and you’ll be rewarded with plenty of repeat business. Since most vehicle owners in the UK currently own more than one car or will in the near future, doing a great job the first time is the key to getting them to come back and recommend their friends and family.

The UK Could Use More Auto Repair Services

You might think that there are already too many repair services in your area, but there actually aren’t enough to accommodate the demand. If you’ve ever had to wait weeks for your vehicle to be returned to you by a repair shop, then you know first-hand just how backed up many auto service providers are. You can help alleviate that demand by launching your own auto repair service via the steps listed above.

timing belt cam shaft engine problems

Timing Belt Needs Changing Sir? the dreaded words from your mechanic?

Change your  Timing Belt it’s imperative?

When our customers are having a service to their car, there are certain things that we will report to them. Thus, when their cars service is complete. What we do which is what most garages do!

So, nowadays, is to take a contact number of the person who’s car it is having a service. Before mobile phones this would have been more difficult to do. But now most of our customers have some sort of mobile phone or other.

The things we report on are such things as tyres or worn steering parts. So, these can be changed later on in the day if the customer is contacted . Of course, and we will have time to carry out the repairs. One important thing though is the Timing or cam belt. The Timing Belt Kits come in two types. The chain type, which as the word say’s is very similar to a motor bike chain. More commonly, the rubber looking belt! Consequently, that looks very similar to a fan belt. Including looking like  the belt that drives your washing machine or spin dryer.

This is made out of very strong material similar to the materials that tyres are made from.

The importance of the timing belt cannot be overstressed. If the belt breaks in use then the engine can be damaged beyond repair. When we carry out a service we always check in the Autodata online manual. Naturally, for the exact time for the belt to be changed. Sometimes it will state a Timing Belt Intervals and other times it may state a time period. However, usually it will be between 60000miles and 100000 miles when the new belt should be fitted.

This is also important to know if you buy a second hand car. I have known customers who have had a car for a couple of months and their timing belt has snapped leaving them with a

blown up engine and no redress from the person that they bought the Old Cars from, so if you buy a second hand car you must only buy one with a history record and the knowledge of the timing belt, otherwise you could be caught out with a huge repair bill, always ask about the timing belt?

A simple explanation of what this important part does is as follows; the timing belt is used to turn the camshaft at exactly half the speed of the crankshaft. Your camshaft controls the opening and closing of the valves in time to the pistons going up and down the engines cylinders. The camshaft belt runs on pulleys at the end of each important part and very often also drives the water pump. Should the belt break; then all these other parts simply smash into each, other causing major damage to the car’s engine.

The timing belt is spinning at tremendous speed and generates much heat,

so the belt is subject to many pressures and eventually starts to break up and cracking starts to appear, once again very similar to tyres. Perhaps you can see now why it is so important to change the belt at the correct time. Importantly, we also recommend that you change the water pump at the same time. The water pump runs on a bearing and the bearings tend to wear out at the same time. If the water pump is not changed and goes at a later date then the garage will have all the same work to carry out all over again.

Many different companies makes of timing belt but we prefer to use leading brand belts. Because, our customers are covered under a warranty should anything go wrong with the part or the fitting of your new belt. You will be covered across the whole of the mainland UK, under the terms of the warranty a great protection to have.

So to finalise if your garage warns you that the timing belt is due for a change well get it done as soon as you can afford to, before the thing breaks and causes much more damage to the car and to your wallet or purse.

State of the Auto repair Industry: In my Part of the World

State of the Auto repair Industry

State of the Auto repair Industry

This is in reply to your tweet, “Why Your Employees May Be Looking to Quit.”.

State of the Auto repair Industry

I am going to try to answer this complex question! As the owner of a small garage in the county of West Yorkshire, UK, there are many factors. Long-term, then, it all boils down to how you or your management treat people (your staff, of course).

In my opinion, this is why small and medium garages have always come out in the best health when times get tough. I have now been running my garage for almost fifty years. Many of my staff are long-term employees.

These good people are diamonds and should be looked after all along the way. Millions of small and medium garage and autocentre owners will know exactly what I mean.

We all hear horror stories about how the national garage chains treat there staff. Forcing them to work extra hours and always having to sell addons when they are not required.

Customers are not stupid-State of the Auto repair Industry

I always make sure that my staff is looked after so they, too, can make a good living out of the business. Some owners prefer to do this illegally . However, I prefer to use various bonus schemes. I must emphasise that these bonus schemes are not tied down to any targets in any way.

All my married staff have settled into nice homes and have a good standard of living. This is how it should be. The only thing that I ask is that they are polite and helpful to the customers. All my staff are taught to be multi-taskers.

Not only do they do the job of repairing cars, but they can also take the customers through the whole procedure of paying for the work done, issuing sales invoices, and dealing with credit card payments.

I find that this gives the staff and the customers a better shopping experience due to the personal contact. Another thing I ask for is that my staff have total access to our computer system and can also answer any phone calls.

We do have receptionists and depot managers- State of the Auto repair Industry

However, should they be busy or on another call, then any member of staff can take the call and have the power to deal with the customer if they can. Customers are not stupid; they can see that my garage is a well-run and happy operation.

We are not perfect, and sometimes we do get a bad apple. However, they are sussed out early, and it is usually through my staff.

I could go on for ages, but to bring things up to 2022, where we are now, then we do have staffing problems going forward !

At the moment, because people are keeping their cars longer, we are packed out-State of the Auto repair Industry

We are also an MOT testing station and are booked up for three weeks at the moment. I am struggling to find at least two new members of staff.

It looks like younger people do not  want to get their hands dirty anymore. My only hope for the state of the auto repair industry is for some return to the apprenticeship schemes we had in days gone by.

Once you get them then you must work hard to keep them ?

    Insane MOT Test Proposals

    MOT Testing Halifax-Wheels and Tyres-Explained

Pellon Autocentre is an MOT Testing Halifax station with over 20 years experience.

MOT Testing Halifax is part of a series of explanations. About, how the MOT Rules works to keep your car safe and legal. When you prepare your car for the MOT test, the follow advice will apply. Especially, when dealing with wheels and tyres. The first thing to check are the wheels. As a result, if you have alloy wheels. Because, you should check for serious damage and cracks. Also, you must have a full set of wheel nuts fitted. If your car has steel wheels and plastic hub caps. Of course, the nuts will not be checked by the tester. Thus, they will only be checked if you remove the hub caps before the car is tested.

If any nuts are missing then this will result in a failure.

According to the DVLA MOT Rules. The tyre condition is very important. Testers look for any side wall damage and for any cuts or damage to the tyre tread. The tester will also check the tread depth. Using his official tread depth gauge. The legal limit is 1.6 mm across three-quarters of the tread width . This can be detected by a visual look at the tyres. Of course, before you present the car for a test. Tyre manufacturers build into the tyre treads a wear indicator bar. For when the tyre wears down to the bar a bald patch is visible. Police officers also use these bars as away of a quick check of tyre condition. Especially, when stopping a motorist for a check over.

Spare wheels and tyres are not part of the MOT test,

MOT Testing Halifax. You may not present a car for a test with a temporary spare on the car. Also, you must present the car with the best four wheels and tyres on your car. Tyre sizes are checked on the car on the same axle. But other information such as load ratings are not checked.Because, this is deemed as too technical. As a result, some cars may break the law. They are not part of an MOT test and therefore will not fail.
It is always good practice to have your car checked out or have a service when you have your car tested, this will ensure that your car is legal and safe. Pellon Autocentre is leading MOT Testing Halifax area.

Pellon Tyre and Autocentre offer car and van servicing and repairs to all makes of vehicles.

Cheap Brake Pads: Are they Worth It?

    Cheap Brake Pads

    Cheap Brake Pads

Of course, your vehicle’s braking system is composed of multiple components. Subsequently, work in tandem to bring your vehicle to a halt once the brake pedal is engaged. The hydraulic system, which most automobiles utilise. Hence, it uses fluid to transmit the pressure from the brake pedal to the brake. The brake discs are wheel-mounted concave discs. It converts the kinetic energy into thermal energy. Which is subsequently absorbed and dissipated by the brake.

Brake fluid is stored within the master cylinder and flows into the callipers. Cheap Brake Pads

through the brake pipes (lines), of course, which clamp the brake pads onto the rotors. Thus stopping the vehicle. The brake pads, which are composed of steel with surface-bound friction material,. Ultimately, press against the rotor to create the necessary friction to decelerate and halt the car.

As all motorists know, the pads will eventually deteriorate due to constant contact with the rotors. Furthermore, driving habits can affect the brake pad’s lifespan. For instance, frequent braking or driving through urban areas. Which require frequent stops and starts, can necessitate brake pad replacement more often.

Four brake pad types are available, each with distinct performance and cost differences.

They are, in order of increasing price and therefore usually better quality:

Low-Metallic, Non-Asbestos Organic: These brake pads are budget-friendly, but they are also the loudest and generate the most brake dust, which can reduce braking effectiveness.

Non-Asbestos Organic: These brake pads are made of rubber, glass, fibre, or Kevlar. They are extremely silent, but they wear out much faster than other types and generate a lot of dust.

Semi-metallic: These brake pads contain 30% to 65% metal, typically steel, copper, composite alloys, or iron. Durable and economical, semi-metallic brake pads are gentler on the rotors than ceramic pads, but they perform worse in extreme weather conditions and produce more noise.

Ceramic: Ceramic brake pads are the most expensive, but they are also the highest-performing and most silent option. Unlike the plates in your kitchen cabinet, ceramic pads are interwoven with copper strands to make them tough enough to withstand prolonged usage.

Cheap Brake Pads- VERSUS EXPENSIVE BRAKE PADS

Most cars sold today come with non-asbestos organic brake pads. These are designed for road use and function well in your vehicle. Additionally, they are cost-effective, although they will need to be replaced frequently. Here at Pellon Tyres, we use the best pads possible to suit the customer’s particular budget. We never use the cheapest pads or any other brake parts, for that matter.

However, if you want a cleaner and quieter option, ceramic brake pads are the way to go. Although more expensive, ceramic pads will last much longer and can even extend the lifespan of other brake components because of their high heat resistance. Certain car models recommend we fit these ceramic pads, so we do!

It’s important to remember that ceramic brake pads produce less friction. Cheap Brake Pads

resulting in a longer stopping distance. As a result, larger vehicles, like SUVs and trucks, are better off with organic pads.

Regardless of which type of brake pads you choose, it’s essential to invest in high-quality versions. Cheap brake pads not only generate a lot of dust and noise but also pose a significant safety hazard.

Brake pads are seen to be the products of harmful dust and therefore bad for the environment. I fear that this will be a problem for governments to face in the future.

Keeping Your Car In The Best Condition

When you have gotten your hands on a car that you are truly happy with, you are going to want to
Make sure that you are taking the best possible care of it. There are a lot of people out there who do
not realise just how important this is. Keeping your car in good condition is not just about making
sure that you take it in for a wash every month or so, or that you try not to forget about taking it for

its MOT. Keeping Your car in the Best Condition

It’s about making sure that it continues to offer you the best possible performance and that you
stop its value from depreciating. With each passing year, and perhaps more importantly, with each
passing mile, you are putting your car through a lot of wear and tear, especially if you are driving at
    events.

But with the right maintenance, you can keep the impact of those road surfaces, adverse
    weather conditions,
and the simple act of driving itself, to a minimum. Here is a guide to how you
can keep your car in the best condition possible.

Watch How You Drive. Keeping Your car in the Best Condition

Let’s start by talking about something that many people don’t think about when they think about car
maintenance. The way that you drive has a huge impact on the condition of your vehicle. Driving as
smoothly as possible, without any sudden pressure on the brakes or accelerator, should help to
reduce the standard wear and tear.

However, it is also important to ensure that you are revving your
engine often enough to keep anything from being clogged up. Regular use is the key here, which can
sometimes be tricky if you are looking after a modified car that you drive at special events. Find a
way to take it out when you can.

    Keep It Clean

This one is arguably the simplest of the points we are going to cover but it is certainly one of the
most important. If you leave your car dirty after a drive, the dirt and debris may start to stick and
cause corrosion. It is also important to give your car a clean if you have been driving on icy roads, or
recently iced roads, as the chemicals that are used to keep the roads drivable can do a number on
your paintwork. It may seem like a superficial job, but it plays a massive part in keeping everything in
    good condition.

Get Your Battery Checked. Keeping Your car in the Best Condition

You should be checking that everything is working properly with your battery on a regular basis. If
you have had the same car for three years or more, then it is particularly important to take it into a
mechanic if you notice anything unusual, but it is always better to be on the safe side.

    Remember
that your battery can run down even when you are not using your car. In fact, this is often how
Batteries end up dead, and replacement batteries can cost a huge amount. So, even if you don’t do a
lot of driving, try to take your car out for a spin on a semi-regular basis. There is battery charging
packs called trickle chargers that you can buy if you know that you are not going to be driving for a
    few months.

Find Insurance That Works For You

One of the best ways that you can make sure that your car stays in good condition is by finding
quality insurance coverage. There are always going to be things that you can’t plan for. Sometimes
Freaky accidents just happen, and other drivers on the road may not be as careful as you are when it
when it comes to watching where they are going.

Repairing a damaged car can be costly, particularly if you
are driving a modified or high-performance car. If you want to have the peace of mind that your
vehicle is going to be in safe hands no matter what happens, then why not look for modified car
insurance that will cover you. Reis can arrange coverage for road cars that have been modified and
They have experience in helping drivers who attend rain or shine shows, exhibitions, or specialist

shows, and you can find out more here. They have a range of different options to help you find the
    perfect policy for you.

    Don’t Forget The Oil Levels

Checking your oil levels is one of the most essential parts of keeping your car in good condition.
Engine oil keeps everything lubricated and running smoothly, and if you are driving without the right
levels, then you will start to damage your car quickly.

The good news is that checking your engine oil
levels is fairly simple to accomplish on your own. Just make sure that your car is on a flat surface and that the
engine is cool, then pop the bonnet up and use the dipstick to check the level. However, it is also a
It’s a good idea to get your oil checked professionally on a regular basis.

It’s not just about making sure
that you have enough oil in there, you also need to see if it needs to be changed. Which brings us to
    our next point.

Find A Garage That You Trust And Visit Regularly

A lot of people view taking their car to the garage for a professional mechanic’s inspection as a
chore. However, if your car is important to you, it’s just as important to do this as it is for you to go
to the doctor or the dentist on a regular basis.

To start with, never put off going for your MOT. It is
    required by law,
and you could be facing a thousand-pound fine if they find that you are driving on
an expired one. You can look at minor services that will look at your car’s fluid and oil levels and any
leaks in the tyres, exhaust, brakes, gearbox, and steering wheel.

They will also cover everything from
the suspension to your car horn. Major services tend to cover things like replacements and will cost
more. If you can identify any potential problems before getting to that point, then you’ll be much
    better off.
