Electric cars-Dealers Are Really Scared Of Tesla Disrupting The Servicing Experience
Jalopnik
Service departments are important for car dealers and Auto Centres in general?

eric roberts‘s insight:

When Electric cars arrive will car servicing be a thing of the past

Well according to this article, it would be Electric cars from Tesla that get in their way. I have been having this discussion on LinkedIn forums for ages now, and most industry professionals, think the same way as me and that the future car mix will be the old and new Electric cars technology cars mixed.

America has now found themselves with oil that will last them many more years ahead, from the new technology  of “fracking“.

This is where crude oils are forced out from between layers of shale rock that could not be previously  got at, using conventional mining methods.

This new oil find will in my opinion secure the use of gasoline(petrol) driven vehicles, all be it with much more efficient engines and probably diesel. Diesel can also be made from

If it is up to Tesla car servicing would be a thing of the past

organic plant materials, known as Bio fuels. which are already in use in today’s diesel engined cars. We can also recycle old fuels including old oil to purify and use in these engines.

EV and electric cars are being developed at a very fast pace along with Hydrogen cell cars and no doubt there will be many more new inventions coming out of the Worlds universities as governments plough billions of dollars into new research and development.

All these different mixes of car technology will in the future mean a very diverse mix of cars on the roads of the World.

Car servicing will still be a thing of the future

I also think that the “right to repair bill” that is law in America and also very similar to the European Union laws that are designed to protect the replacement car servicing and

parts companies from new technologies that are created by the car manufacturing companies such as Tesla Electric cars in America and say BMW in Europe.

Solar Batteries-Is It Time for the Utility Companies to confront the need for Solar Storage?

Solar Batteries

Solar batteries could also help Europe

I think that at the moment this is an American problem for the near future. But could it turn the economic tables for the poorer Southern countries in Europe. I

Solar Batteries

Large bank of batteries used as Solar Batteries

started to write this article. So, about the growing threat that is coming from the huge increase in solar panel use. Growth of Solar City the country’s largest installer of PV solar panels. Consequently, combined with the ambitions of American car maker Tesla Motors,.Who’s intentions are to build a massive battery building plant. So to help bring down the cost of building the car batteries that are used to power their electric cars.

It is now thought that these types of Solar Batteries. Are to be used to store the power that is produced by the solar panels. This type of system is used at the moment. By thousands of homes in America. Especially in remote areas where it is not possible to connect to the national electricity grid. Using in built-up areas in our cities and towns.

The national grid has been supplying homes

Industries with electricity now for more than a century. In my opinion are now becoming under threat from the joint efforts of these two fast growing energy providers. Including the energy storage companies, Tesla cars and Solar-City. The two companies have used the Lithium-Ion batteries on trial in California. For general usage and soon realised that this was going to be of great use by integrating it into the Grid.

Here in the UK. Most solar panels do not store the electricity in solar batteries. But use an inverter to change the DC power that is produced by the solar panels. Subsequently, into AC power that is used by the national grid system. The electricity passes through a meter and the electric company buy the electricity from the home producer. If this is the case here in the UK, then I see no problem with a similar system in the States, especially for town and city dwellers.

The possibility of huge amounts of electricity being produced in the future opens up other arguments, such as why should we build more fossil fuel power plants or indeed nuclear, when it will be possible to store the electricity in massive battery storage plants. Surely we are swiftly approaching the time for all the parties involved to get their heads together and smell the coffee.

It does not take much figuring out, that here am I on a sunny march day watching my solar panels meter clicking over and reducing my electric bill, times this by millions and the income of the utility companies will collapse. This is only possible because of the technology that is speeding along at the rate of knots.

Solar batteries; could be used to store electricity in the Northern Hemisphere?

This brought me to my earlier thought. Here in the UK, we do use solar panels, but we have limited amount of actual sun power, because of the tilt of the Earth the sun is very low in winter and therefore not at the right angle to supply rooftop solar panels with enough energy. The spring and summertime are fine and we can get the regular strong sun to make solar panels a viable proposition.

To me, this would be a great challenge for the European Union. It is not rocket science to see that the Southern European countries have much more sunshine hours than the richer

Solar Batteries,solar power batteries

Solar batteries in storage bank

Northern Hemisphere countries such as Germany and the UK. Therefore would it not make economic sense for the Southern countries to produce the electricity from giant banks of solar panels, such as the ones in the deserts of America and the Northern countries.

It is now thought that these types of Solar Batteries

can also be used to store the power that is produced by the solar panels. could store the surplus for use in winter time, by using the battery technology from out of America. The countries such as Greece, Spain and Portugal not forgetting Italy, would produce the energy and sell it to the North. This is done at the moment here in the UK, as we buy some of our electricity from the nuclear power stations in France.

I have read an article about solar facilities in Greece and Spain from an excellent article by Forbes on…http://www.forbes.com/sites/christophercoats/2013/03/19/whats-behind-the-sudden-solar-surge-in-greece/

This is about solar power and It is now thought that these types of Solar Batteries can also be used to store the power that is produced by the solar panels. at a local level but we are not far from the whole of the World having to look at the big picture, as we have a great chance to change the World into a greener and better way to live, whilst also reducing our need for fossil fuels.

Renault French automaker can cut off your battery if you don’t pay

Post updated  10-17-2019 Eric Roberts

Last year Tesla dealt with its first real scandal, the so-called “bricking” of batteries that are allowed to run entirely out of charge. But what about a car company (Renault)that could brick a car’s battery on purpose?

Eric Roberts‘s insight:

Cutting off your car battery

This is known as “bricking” ! Significantly, stems from Renault keeping an eye on their customers who do not keep up with a payment. Consequently, this is allegedly in the small print ! So, under the French car companies “rented battery” agreement.

Also in the service agreement. Sadly, it is alleged that Renault has the right to halt the possible charging of the battery. When the rental contract comes to an end. Apparently, this also includes the same penalties if you fail to make a payment. Thus, on your car agreement, making the car impossible to drive

I wonder what would happen ! In the case of say a mess up with paperwork. Accordingly, if the payments from the bank may go wrong. Therefore, would Renault then cut off your battery supply. What a mess that would be to sort out. Hence, we all know that these large banks and credit companies do make mistakes. Naturally, you could be stranded anywhere and it would not be your fault?. The mind boggles.

Batteries charged by Solar Panels-Toyota’s vision for the future – Drive

Batteries charged

Toyota‘s vision for the future Drive

Toyota’s Smart House uses solar panels and Batteries charged for all electricity, and the system can also power any plug-in hybrid and electric cars belonging to the occupants.

Eric Roberts‘s insight:

Solar panels Batteries charged this cars batteries

This is a very good and in depth article by Matt Campbell. Hence, this article is about Toyota,s new vision. So of a totally green Batteries charged car. Of course, the car (if you could call it that) is operated by twin electric motors.

Batteries charged

Hydrogen cells are also becoming popular to some car makers. Especially Toyota in Japan . For this reason, Toyota are already in a well advanced stage. So in the race for the end to the gas guzzling cars. Thus, reducing greenhouse gases.

Thus , connected up to a Lithium Ion Battery Pack .Enabling , the car to do 45 k/hr. With a range of about 50 kilometers. This  little car has special suspension .Of course, that allows it to sort of tilt, as you can see in the picture. Thus, is expected to be used in busy cities and towns. Consequently, the car will be known as the i-Road. Subsequently, will also be able to be plugged in and charged at any charging station. Of course, as well as at home.Batteries charged

The future of the Lithium-Ion battery is becoming more certain.Hence, regarding the batteries. Including when they have finished their end of life as a New Car Battery. Although the old replaced battery may not be suitable for a car.

Batteries charged

Then, scientists are thinking of using disused batteries for solar energy Battery storage purposes. To be charged and used as storage. The world will be crying out for some solution to solar energy storage. Of course, the old Lithium-Ion batteries could well be the answer. To the disposal problem.

As a result of demand. Other power saving technologies are been invented in Universities . All over the world. Hence, to reduce emissions and greenhouse gases. Including the Start-Stop Batteries that are now getting more popular with car manufacturers.
