Bridgestone’s story begins with Shojiro Ishibashi, a Japanese entrepreneur who set up a tyre division in Kurume, Fukuoka. The very first tyre bearing the Bridgestone name rolled out in 1930, and a year later, on 1 March 1931, the Bridgestone Tire Co., Ltd. was officially formed.
