Tyre Safe Advice Caravan Tyres

  • As with all other types of vehicles. Tyres are the only parts of the caravan and motor-homes . That  are in constant touch with the road surface. Because, this small area of footprint where the tyre is in contact with the road. Gives the vehicle the ability to steer and accelerate. While braking and cornering . Hence, in all types of weather .Although caravans do not have to steer or brake. Because they are a towing vehicle. The motor-home has got drive wheels like all other road vehicles.
  • caravans however do carry weight. So it is very important for the owner . Of course, to thoroughly check their tread and pressures .At regular intervals .Increasing the pressure when the caravan carries more weight. Say when the owner goes on their holidays. How many times do we see a caravan or trailer leaning over . Or swaying about on the carriageway. Well this is due to a deflated tyre or a caravan with the incorrect pressures . All this sort of Tyre Safe Advice . Therefore, is available on the TYRESAFE website . Including, much more valuable information for the motorist to gather . Thus, about their tyres and safety related issues.

Tyre Safe Advice

  • To update this post, although we give excellent Tyre Safe Advice,we have seen the usual crop of caravan accidents that were probably due to the incorrect tyre pressure or the caravans just requiring new tyres. Even so ITyre Safe Advice am convinced that there is a completely good solution to the problem and that would for the caravan manufacturers to fit runflat tyres as standard. The solution would be far better than those awful rim bands that take an inexperienced tyre fitter a lifetime to fit and remove. when a new tyre is  fitted.
  • We are all used to runflats now and have bought special fitting machines for the job. I can not believe that the people who make the caravans have not thought of this before in my opinion it is not rocket science and would be a great safety feature when coupled up with a tyre pressure monitoring system TPMS .
