Tyre maintenance neglected by the younger drivers
Of course, there is no doubt that the younger drivers are not concerned about their tyre maintenance responsibilities. Therefore, it is a very rare sight in my tyre depot to see younger drivers buying many new tyres. Subsequently, I can’t speak for the second hand tyre market. Because,we are not part of it. But I suspect that this is the part of the tyre sector that younger drivers may buy their tyres.
It also seems to be the young men who are the main culprits, the young ladies do buy tyres and have their cars serviced more often, but the sector
that covers younger drivers do not appear to buy tyres from the standard type of tyre retailer or online.
We fit tyres from online tyre retailers such as ASDA Tyres, and they too do not attract the Young Driver Experience, it would be interesting what sort of opinion other tyre retailers may have on this subject? Are they finding the same or is it just me in Halifax that fails to attract the younger drivers, please let me know. We see less and less young drivers now buying tyre in our depot in Halifax.
We believe that they are buying more and more part worn tyres and not thinking about the consequences to themselves and their cars, let alone other drivers on the road.
I know that tyres and Tyre maintenance is probably the last thing on young drivers minds, but it us to us all in the auto trade make them aware of the underlying dangers that making the correct choice when buying tyres. Such things as staying clear of buying unregulated illegal part worn tyres and other Tyre maintenance subjects?
