Kia Picanto Falken Tyres – A Busy Saturday Morning in Halifax
Saturday was a busy morning for tyre sales here at Pellon Tyres in Halifax. The first job was a Kia Picanto coming in for two new Falken ZIEX ZE320 tyres.
It was a good way to start the morning. Of course, we see all sorts of vehicles coming through our doors on Pellon Lane, from small-town cars to large SUVs and working vans. However, I have always had a soft spot for sensible little cars that get their owners about without costing a fortune.
The Kia Picanto fits nicely into that category. For shopping trips, getting to work or visiting family around Halifax and Calderdale, a compact car can be just the ticket.
Naturally, these smaller cars need decent tyres just as much as anything else on the road. Our Yorkshire hills and wet weather make sure of that!
The Kia Picanto – A Popular Small Car in the UK
The Kia Picanto arrived in the UK in 2004. Since then, it has become a familiar little car on British roads, with successive versions bringing changes to its styling, equipment and comfort.
Its appeal is easy enough to understand. Many people want a car that is straightforward to drive and convenient to park. They do not necessarily need a large family vehicle, especially when most journeys are fairly local.
Here in Halifax, a smaller car can certainly come in handy. Finding a parking space in town or getting through some of our narrower residential streets is often easier with something compact.
Around Calderdale, our towns and villages grew long before anybody had thought about motor cars. Many streets were laid out to serve houses, mills and local businesses, rather than rows of parked vehicles. You can see why a little hatchback still makes plenty of sense.
Whether it is a first car, a second household car or somebody’s everyday runabout, the Picanto offers a practical approach to motoring.
To my mind, there is nowt wrong with choosing a car that simply does the job you need.
Two New Falken Tyres for Our Customer’s Kia
Our customer’s Kia came in for a pair of Falken ZIEX ZE320 tyres.
Falken is a brand that I am happy to recommend when there is a suitable tyre available for the vehicle. Customers naturally want a fair price, but they also want confidence in what they are buying.
Here in Yorkshire, we like good value. However, that does not always mean buying the cheapest tyre available. It means considering what you are getting for your money and choosing something appropriate for your car and your journeys.
You can browse Falken tyres on our online tyre website, or give us a ring if you would like some help.
We are always happy to explain the choices in plain English.
What Kind of Tyre Is the Falken ZIEX ZE320?
The Falken ZIEX ZE320 is a summer road tyre designed to combine everyday comfort with responsive handling. Falken highlights its wet-road performance, reduced running noise and construction designed to help lower rolling resistance.
Those are useful qualities for ordinary motorists. Most customers are interested in how their car feels on the road, whether the ride is comfortable and how the tyres perform when it rains.
Incidentally, the term “summer tyre” does not mean you can only use it on a sunny afternoon! It describes the type of tyre and its design. Summer tyres are widely used for everyday UK motoring, although winter and all-season tyres offer other options for different conditions.
The label on the tyres photographed for this job shows 205/55R16 91V, with an A rating for wet grip, a C rating for fuel efficiency and 67 dB external rolling noise.
The wet-grip rating is particularly relevant around our part of West Yorkshire. We certainly get enough opportunities to drive in the rain!
Why Good Tyres Matter Around Halifax and Calderdale
A small car still has to cope with everything our local roads throw at it.
Driving around Pellon, heading towards Mount Tabor or travelling through Sowerby Bridge can involve steep gradients, bends and changing road surfaces. Add a wet morning and you soon appreciate why tyre condition matters.
Even a short journey to the shops can involve braking downhill or stopping suddenly when traffic slows.
Of course, no tyre removes the need to drive carefully. Standing water, wet leaves and slippery surfaces still deserve respect. However, choosing suitable tyres and keeping them in good condition is an important part of looking after your car.
As autumn moves along, it is also worth reading our winter tyre tips, particularly if you regularly travel over higher ground.
Falken Tyres for a Wide Range of Cars
One of the strengths of Falken is the breadth of its range. There are options for many different vehicle types, rather than one tread pattern expected to cover every job.
The range includes the SINCERA SN110 for compact and medium-sized cars, ZIEX road tyres such as the ZE320, and AZENIS products for higher-performance applications. Falken also offers e. ZIEX tyres developed for electric vehicles, alongside EUROALL SEASON and EUROWINTER options. Availability depends on the required size and specification.
That gives customers plenty of choice.
Somebody mainly driving around Halifax may have different priorities from a motorist covering long motorway journeys. Equally, a driver regularly tackling exposed Pennine roads might want to discuss cold-weather options.
We can help you choose a suitable product rather than expecting you to arrive knowing every tyre name.
You can search for car tyres online, but we always recommend checking the size and specification against your particular vehicle.
Getting the Best from Your New Tyres
After buying new tyres, a little regular attention helps keep them in good order.
Check the pressures recommended for your car, look for visible damage and keep an eye on the tread. Uneven wear is worth investigating rather than ignoring.
If your car pulls to one side or the tyres are wearing unevenly, ask us about four-wheel alignment in Halifax.
Similarly, vibration through the steering wheel can warrant a check. Our wheel balancing guide explains more about this part of tyre care.
We also carry out brake repairs and MOT testing, helping local customers keep their cars ready for everyday use.
