Continental Tyre Advice-Continental tyres make new gadgets

Conti Car Tyres has been stepping up its line of products as it already delivers tyres which are equipped with a sensor that tells the user just how much…

Eric Roberts‘s insight:

New Tyre Advice just one of things to come?

Now that we will all be using TPMS systems in the future . So, it comes as no surprise that other gadgets will be developed. Naturally, to aid the motorist. Hence, in the constant drive for more road safety on our cars.

This new device from Continental will be no exception. Significantly, will tell the driver if the car is overloaded or not. Overloading is one of the main dangers associated with the cars handling. Of course, this can be very dangerous when cornering with an overloaded car.

No doubt there will be many more gadgets coming through in the years to come. Thus, to aid drivers probably on German cars such as the BMW’s and Mercs. Working in conjunction with the German tyre giant  Tyre Advice professionals . These devices will also become more common on vehicles such as caravans and motor-homes. So, as they will warn the driver of any loss of air pressure, thus resulting in a safer journey.

General Van Tyres- Well known German tyre company Bring Out New “VAN TYRE”

General Van Tyres

Euro Van 2 new tyre from General Van Tyres

General tyres (part of the Continental tyre group) are keeping up in the lucrative van tyre market with a splendid new tyre, the Euro Van 2 tyre. The market for this product is huge, with the massive increase in the modern van market surging ahead.

Tyre manufacturers. Have now to make heavy duty versions of new car tyres. Because of the speed and comfort, that the new vans are capable of doing. Therefore, gone are the days of the smoky old diesel vans. Chugging along, holding the rest of the traffic up. For this, reason, these days vans can out perform, many cars and the tyres need to be of higher speed. Thus and load ratings. To cope with the extra performance that these modern vans can supply. General Van Tyres have taken all this into consideration.

The new General tyres Euro van is no exception. The newly developed tread pattern helps give the tyre higher mileage and better traction giving the tyre excellent handling on dry roads and a more improved braking performance.

General Van Tyres

For better comfort. General have developed the tyre with staggered tread grooves. Thus, on the shoulder reducing the noise. Giving a better comfort level to the driver. Noise reduction is also important for the green credibility of the tyre. In particular. With the new tyre labels coming out soon. Hence, that gives all tyres noise pollution levels. naturally, to help verify how green the tyre is.

As far as van tyres go this General Van Tyres product is one of the best van tyres that I have come across. People think that there is not much difference performance wise in van tyres, but they would be wrong in thinking that. The most important thing is to look at whatever make of tyres that you have on your van. The van tyre market is one of the most neglected of all the tyre markets. Van drivers usually work for other people, and they do not look after their tyres. So having a good brand of Tyres in the first place is critical, because they are going to get abused, running at low and high pressures at high speeds are usually the norm for the van, only coming to garages when the need replacing due to lack of care.

The new General tyres van tyre will cover almost 90% of van tyre sizes

Continental Van Eco Tyres-“New” Continental Tyres for Vans and Similar Vehicles

Post Updated 2020

Continental Van Eco Tyres New Vanco Eco from Continental tyres improves fuel economy

Like most other tyre manufacturers Continental tyres are striving to improve their range to include much more economic and fuel saving tyres for the future. Indeed Continental have just completed tests together with ford using the Continental Van Eco Tyres and achieved a much greater fuel efficiency by using this tyre , a great result for Continental tyres.

The new van tyre will have much less rolling resistance than previous van tyres , making this tyre about 4% more economical which means much less emissions. Continental tyres engineers have also designed the new tyre give car like handling by means of more comfort together with better handling on both wet and dry roads.

Continental tyres first Vanco Eco tyre size

The first Continental Van Eco Tyres to be made will be in the tyre size 215/75R16 com load rating 113/111 t/l. This size fits most of the popular vans around at the moment including Ford Transits, Mercedes Sprinters and VW T5 range.

Although 4% doesn’t seem a large amount of savings, you must multiply this by the total mileage that the van will do and the huge cost of the price of fuel and this will give the fleet or van owner significant savings. Here at Pellon tyres we have great respect and admiration for Continental tyres products and this new van tyre is no exception. We offer them online at www.pellonautocentre.com

Reduced fuel consumption and lower rolling resistance are the hallmarks of the new Continental Van Eco tyres for light commercial vehicles. Specially developed for vans such as the Mercedes Viano, Vito and Sprinter, Ford Transit and Volkswagen T5, Continental’s Vanco Eco boasts up to 30% less rolling resistance and a calculated four percent saving in fuel and emissions, than standard versions. At the same time engineers have managed to cut the braking distances on both wet and dry road surfaces making the tyre more car-like in its performance.

Continental Tyres UK Ltd-Spies In Your Tyres? This Gizmo Will Help Your Car Drive Itself

Continental Tyres UK Ltd

A few years back, on a week long bus tour of Continental Tyres UK Ltd AG’s technology and engineering centers in Germany, one item attracted more attention from journalists than nearly any of the other whiz-bang connected-car stuff: A simple tire pressure monitor.

Eric Roberts‘s insight:

Continental Tyres UK Ltd new TPMS and more idea

This article written by Bob Gritzinger. Therefore, is all about the new ideas and inventions. Thrown about by the Auto industry at the moment. Consequently, this idea from Conti has now been tested on truck tyres. But at the moment I don’t know whether it has been a success or not. I suspect it will be effective. Because the concept of a monitor. Hence, vulcanised into the tyre. Relaying out information electronically about such things as tyre pressures and the inside temperature of the tyre is obviously of great benefit to the driver of the vehicle.

The device will be able to aid truckers. Because it will also be able to send the driver information. Thus, about the load that the tyre is carrying. Including  the traction details of the tyre, with this giving the driver the knowledge that the full load and road conditions can be checked as the truck is rolling along. I don’t know what sort of signals theIce road truckers would be getting from their in built TPMS tyres?

TPMS Valves becoming more common

The new Continental Tyres UK Ltd valve sends out the information. Hence, out by wireless signals. Therefore, is picked up in the cab by the driver on an in-car system very similar to the ones now where the TPMS Valves signals are fitted to the wheels. Continental Tyres UK Ltd says that this is all part the future that may introduce the driverless vehicle to our towns and cities. If an object penetrates a

tyre the system will pick up the loss of pressure and stop the car in some sort of safe area and the problem reported and fixed.

New VW Multivan Factory-Fitted with Continental Tyres

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is factory-fitting its new Multivan with Continentals AllSeasonContact tyres in 16″ and 17″ fitments.

This premium all-season tyre is designed to cope with any weather, all year round. Thanks to a special tyre compound containing a high proportion of silica and special performance resins. So, the AllSeasonContact offers excellent traction and braking performance. The braking forces are transmitted to the road via the tyres with exceptional efficiency. Importantly, resulting in shorter braking distances.

Particularly on icy and snow-covered roads during the winter. The AllSeasonContact also offers outstanding braking performances. Especially, on wet and dry roads in the summer. This is all thanks to the special geometry of the shoulder groove. Of course, which ensures improved water drainage. The shoulder groove is also designed to provide additional stability. Importantly, during cornering as well as exceptional lateral aquaplaning performance.

The AllSeasonContact is characterised by its high energy efficiency, rated with EU tyre label “A” making it a leader in its segment.

The significantly improved rolling resistance was achieved through an optimal balance. Of course, between compound, geometry and sidewall thickness. Lower rolling resistance helps to reduce fuel consumption and, in turn, CO2 emissions.

Different automotive magazines have recently praised Continental’s AllSeasonContact for its versatility. The allround specialist recently won, for example, the all-year test conducted by Gute Fahrt (edition 9/22), confirming the success it enjoyed in the tests conducted by Auto Zeitung (19/21) and Auto Bild (40/21).

The following products and sizes are factory-approved for the new VW Multivan in numerous markets, including the UK:

AllSeasonContact, 215/65 R16 102H XL

AllSeasonContact, 235/55 R17 103H XL

Another great article from the renowned “Tyre Trade News Magazine” . Of course keeping small and medium tyre companies in the picture with new and fresh content.

SUV Winter tyres-even more important for SUV drivers – UK Net Guide-Pellon tyres

SUV Winter tyres

SUV Winter tyres even more important for SUV drivers UK Net Guide Indeed, speaking to the Telegraph, Guy Frobisher, marketing director at Continental, notes that a significant proportion of accidents could be avoided if only drivers invested in some…

Eric Roberts‘s insight:

Winter tyres for extra safety

It always amazes me the amount of SUV drivers that visit my garage here in Halifax UK, are not aware of the dangers that they face when driving in any kind of winter weather .

Even if it does not snow. So, the cold and wet weather will affect the way that their SUV vehicle. Hence, will perform on the roads, and they will be much safer. Thus on SUV Winter tyres.

I can now say without doubt, that this is a true fact. The article says that the SUVs on summer tyres. Are involved in more accidents relating to the weather conditions. Than on normal type saloon cars. The tyre sizes and overall diameters. Making the SUV vehicles more vulnerable in winter weather. Therefore, there is no doubt that SUV Winter tyres. So, will enhance the safety of the vehicle in winter weather.

SUV Winter tyres

Also many SUV drivers are not aware that their vehicles are only fitted with summer tyres. Of course, when they are first purchased. SUV Winter tyres have to be bought separately. They seem to be lulled into a false sense of security. Especially, when they see that their cars are fitted with big fat wheels and tyres. So, the truth is that this type of tyre will act in the opposite direction. Of course, when they are faced with cold temperatures and rain and snow. Indeed this type of tyre with its wide tread area acts exactly in the wrong direction, and makes the vehicles unstable on the icy and wet winter roads.

As the article states last year the AA alone had to rescue 8000 motorists who were stuck in ice snow and mud, and all this could have been prevented if the vehicle owners had fitted winter tyres. So if you take my advice it is not too late to fit a set of SUV Winter tyres on your SUV particularly, but on any vehicle, foe a safer winters driving.

KORBACH, Germany—Continental A.G.

Eric Roberts‘s insight:

Continental tyres keep on moving forward

Significantly, this is just one of the expansion plans . Including, a Continental tyres boost for the giant tyre company of Continental. Consequently, the Continental Car Tyres company and all its subsidiaries have leaped ahead of most of its

Continental Seal tyres protect the tyre from nail penetrations like this one competitors in recent years due to some innovative new products such as the “Seal Tyres” that contain a protective layer of sealant made of polymers, that stop the tyre from deflating when penetrated by a screw or a nail.

Continental tyre Sport Contacts

The protective layer is inside the Seal tyres,  just underneath the tread area. Other products to give a Continental tyres boost include “runflat technology” and new tyres that are greener and lighter to save on emissions for new EV and electric vehicles, altogether an impressive portfolio of products.

Continental tyres boost their market share by continuously adding new tyre products to their range. One of their latest tyre products is a new winter tyre the Vanco 4 season 2 tyres.

Here in 2020, then Continental tyres are still steaming ahead as one of the worlds leading tyre manufacturers. Big Five Tyre Makers+Back in Front where they belong+Big tyremakers are regaining their grip

Big Five Tyre Makers

Big Five Tyre Makers

There is no doubt that in my long presence in the tyre industry. Then the top five tyre companies have always been in contention. Hence, for the top spot.

Whether it be on numbers sold or quality then the top five manufacturers have kept in front. Therefore the likes of Michelin, Goodyear, Continental, Bridgestone and Pirelli.

One of the main reasons is because premium car manufacturers tend to stick to premium car tyres. Hence, for the original equipment tyres they choose.

Consequently, there has begun to be a wider variety of OE tyres chosen in the mass market car sector. Previously, most car manufacturers have stuck to the top five tyre manufacturers.

Big Five Tyre Makers could it change

As this has already started to change. manufacturers that were previously labelled as “mid range” tyres are now appearing on new car models. Especially, if the country of origin is the same. Indeed this is how the big five started out. With Michelin supplying the mass car markets in France. Including Citroen and Renault. Pirelli had a good foothold with supplying Fiat and Alfa Romeo cars.

Of course in Germany then the huge car makes of Mercedes and  BMW, not forgetting VW were supplied by the giant Continental conglomerate. Goodyear had a firm hold of the North American market, before going global. Japan cars were coming out as original equipment on famous car brands such as Toyota and Nissan.

In recent years the mid-range and budget tyre market has increased with world demand as the car industry has flourished. Including, the introduction of the new tyre labelling laws. This manifested itself with the shock that some of the budget brands had just as good a rating as the big 5. Causing some embarrassment to say the least. Going forward this could very well encourage mass market car manufacturers to look closer at the budget brand tyres. Especially, if they have similar good looking results on the new labels.

We at Pellon Tyres have noticed that consumers will take these labels into consideration when choosing tyres. In my opinion this could lead to the likelihood to see a change in the original equipment tyres. of course, that mass market car manufacturers may choose?

Car makers under pressure to bring down costs

Under constant pressure to bring costs down, car manufacturers may feel able to justify to consumers. That the economy brands will deliver the same performance as the more expensive mid-range. Not forgetting the premium brands. In my opinion though the top five companies also lead the way in tyre technology. As a result, they are always looking at innovative ways of improving their tyre products,

A great example of this is the tremendous effort that Pirelli have put in to the F1 racing scene. This involvement has given great confidence to the general public  when buying Pirelli tyres.

Consequently, there is actually much more to a tyre’s performance than just wet braking. Including rolling resistance and external noise, but it is often first impressions that count. Especially when people are trying to save money. Of course, the fact that surveys have so far shown that many drivers don’t even know about the tyre label. Although this is improving in recent times.

To summarize, I think that the tyre buying public will support the better products that the big five can offer. Including the growing mass SUV market. Some of the tyre sizes are over 20 inch and require great skills to manufacture tyres that are quite whilst giving great performances on faster models such as the BMW’s and Jaguars.
