Interestingly, there is little information about steering and suspension. However I fear this will change when vehicles start crashing into the dreaded pothole problem here on the UK roads. Potholes are caused by frost lifting old road repairs and previously filled in holes.
So the past few years have witnessed mild weather winters. Of course the 2020/21 winter saw most of the UK having freezing conditions. Consequently, this has opened up millions of pot holes. Thus causing havoc with the cars suspension and steering as the holes get deeper and damaging the vehicles that are unlucky enough to hit them.
Of course the most common damage is done to the cars coil springs. Springs catch all the pressure as the car thumps down the pothole causing them to break. The broken springs are not noticed in the first instance and usually picked up on the cars next MOT Test.
