Johnson Controls buys 90% stake in Colombian battery maker
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
Johnson Controls Inc. said Friday it has acquired a 90% stake in battery supplier MAC, which does business in Central and South America.

Hi what can you say about Johnson controls

“They are the World’s biggest battery makers and have made significant progress in its expansion plans and that now includes this acquisition in South America. Johnson controls have always been at the forefront of automotive technology and that includes their battery division.

Johnson Controls latest line of development is a compact Lithium-Ion , that is not much larger the a normal lead acid car battery. The battery is a 24 volt battery and is being looked at by car manufacturers with much interest. Johnson controls also brought the AGM “stop/start” battery onto the market and has been used on many new models. The only point that I would like to make is that as a Varta Battery dealer we have to have a special electrical device to enable us to change the battery, which costs about £600?

Other than that we sell many battery products that are made by Johnson controls, these include Varta batteries, Lucas batteries and also Numax Johnson Controlsbatteries, all of which are excellent quality.

Going back to the new 24 volt battery, this new battery is expected to lower emissions and improve the cars fuel economy to help make a greener planet. Another good point is that this battery is expected to a cheap battery compared with the massive price tags on the Lithium-Ion batteries used on the EV electric vehicles that are in use today. This battery could also replace the standard lead acid batteries now fitted to new cars, but there is an issue with the disposal of the old batteries and as now the problem has yet to be solved”

Hi I would like to introduce myself. I have worked in the Garage and tyre and Battery business now for 40 years. I have worked for a couple for national tyre companies in my younger days, before starting my first business. I now own a garage and MOT testing centre, here in the UK called Pellon Tyre and Auto-centre, and I am a keen blogger about anything to do with cars and their related products that will help my business. We are members of Point-S and Motor-Codes and are also a Unipart Car Care Centre and of course Tyre-safe.
