Kumho Tyres Design Award-Winners for design of the Ecsta Le Sport KU39

Kumho Tyres Design Award;Kumho tyres believe in good looks as well as performance

One thing to me that determines a good tyre, is the tyres looks. Many tyre manufacturers are now looking in that direction, the fact that a tyre should also look good, when fitted to a classy car. You only have to look at Pirelli tyres used in F1 racing, with all the colours that they use to make the tyres fit into the overall picture of the racing scene.

One of first tyre companies to work on their image for better tyre design, was Vredestein tyres in Holland. They contracted the great car designer team from the Giugiaro Design studio.

This new concept of combining design and tyre performance gave a great boost to the Dutch tyre company. Vredestein winter tyres are now World famous for their performance in winter conditions and indeed now win many awards from the leading European tyre magazine tests.

Kumho tyres are aiming for high design standards

Now one of the Worlds up and coming tyre companies, Kumho tyres are following in the footsteps of the major tyre companies by winning design awards.

Kumho Tyres Brief History-Now a popular mid range tyres, with big ambitions

Kumho Tyres Brief History; a humble beginning.

Kumho tyres brief history

Kumho tyre refreshment post at Croft race course

Your car tyres are perhaps one of the most important of your car. It makes no difference which engine or braking system that is in your car, it will not go anywhere without wheels and more importantly TYRES.

Over the years that I have been involved with tyres there appears to have been little change in their development, a tyre has always looked the same to most people they are just round and black, and you will spend hours trying to buy the ones for your car at the cheapest price possible. That’s how it has always been,( no change there).

However the last 20 years have seen massive improvements in the development of the humble car tyre. Most of the tyre companies have been around for ever, your Michelin tyres,Continental, Dunlop, Goodyear have all been with us for years. But in recent times a new guy on the block has been making head ways into the tyre market, “Kumho tyres”

The new force in the tyre market is the Kumho Asiana Group from Gwangju in South Korea. Kumho Tyres Brief History started out life as Sam-yang tyres in 1960(the year when my dear wife was born) and began by making about 20 tyres a day making low quality budget tyres. The turning point in the companies fortune came when Sam-yang bought a company called K S Mark and production started in East Asia.

After the Korean war at the end of the sixties the Korean government were to help Kumho tyres rebuild their infrastructure and a the present day factory was built in Kwangju and were able to build a rapport with American tyre companies. This helped Kumho tyres brief history to take a leap in technology and very soon began to spread its wings into the World market place with much improved products.

Kumho tyres brief history

Kumho tyres brief history;Kumho tyres BMW racing

The 1980s and 90 s brought steady growth with interruptions coming from their own government and factory strikes. Kumho then started to develop new tyre products including aircraft tyres, but they also started making new car tyres and tyres for racing cars and at the beginning of 2000 were the 9th largest tyre company in the World.

Kumho tyres open in the USA

New factories were being build especially in the USA, the one in Georgia costing over $225 million to build. This put the company on the road to success and by 2010 Kumho won the accolade of becoming the “Tyre manufacturing and Style Innovation of the year award”. Kumho tyres are now up there amongst the leading tyre makers on the Planet and we at Pellon tyres are proud to support them here in Halifax UK.

Mid-Range Kumho Tyres-Always try and Ask the Experts for Advice About TYRES

 Post Updated 26th Dec 2013/22nd April 2016

Mid-Range Kumho Tyres-Always good advice about Tyres for our customers

Mid-Range Kumho Tyres-Many consumers don’t know enough about tyres to make an educated choice when making a purchase. For most people, the choice comes down to price especially in these times of

recession. Other people want to stick to the same brand that they have always fitted to the car and are satisfied with the performance they have had out of their old ones. We generally find that the customers who come into the depot will take our advice on the products that we recommend. Over the tears, we have sold millions of the round black things covering many brands and as long as we have the trust in the products that we sell, then the customers are prepared to take our advice.

At the moment, we are very big advocates of Mid-Range Kumho Tyres and also General mid-range tyreswe have every faith that the Mid-Range Kumho Tyres Ecsta Le Sports KU39 will perform extremely well and this confidence is passed onto our customers. I have personally travelled to watch racing BMWs screech round the race track fitted with  KH17 and I have asked the car drivers for their opinion about their performance, and I got nothing but praise for these tyre Reviews. This gives me great confidence when selling this excellent product.

Regardless of Tesco Tyres choice, it is necessary that the motorists understand why tyres are so important. Your tyres are your car’s only contact with the road. Even the racing cars with their powerful engines , strongest brakes, or most advanced anti-skid systems such as the racing BMWs, are at the mercy of the tyre’s grip on the road. Every move a driver makes with the steering wheel or brake or accelerator pedal is transmitted to the road through the four contact patches of the tyres. This not very much although tyres are getting much wider on

Mid-Range Kumho Tyres

to-days cars

Consumers must select a product that will work year ’round and in most conceivable driving situations. However, motorists often ask their cars’ tyres to do many things, and there are many times a vehicle’s tyres aren’t up to the task.
Selecting the right ones for your driving needs is as important as selecting the right vehicle. The ones that are badly worn won’t be able to displace enough water to prevent aquaplaning Performance Summers won’t be able to get much grip in snow. All-season tyres can’t manage the heat build up in high-speed driving. Passenger car tyres might not be able to carry the heavy load found in a contractor’s pickup.

But before consumers can select the right tyres, they have to understand a little tyre technology first.

Worn tyres won’t be able to displace enough water to prevent hydroplaning. High-performance tyres won’t be able to get much grip in snow, but  winters  will give you the grip in snow that you want, as I have stated find the right ones for the job and you will be safe in the knowledge that you Mid-Range Kumho Tyreshave been advised correctly by tyre experts here at Pellon tyres in Halifax.

BMW Runflat tyres-“How they Work” they really are a great safety feature.

BMW Runflat tyres  are now a common feature on today’s modern cars. This advice is given by Pellon tyres of Halifax West Yorkshire.

Higher safety levels with BMW Runflat tyres

Here at Pellon tyres we sell all types of car tyres. Of course, including the BMW Runflat tyres. Thus, found on many of today’s BMW and Mini cars. The usual thing that happens when confronted with having to buy

BMW Runflat tyres

The difference between a runflat tyre and a normal tyre

replacement runflat tyres. of course,is the moaning customer complaining about the cost. This is from people who have bought second or third hand cars.Accordingly, such as BMW minis or older BMW’s and Mercedes saloons.

I suppose you can’t really blame them in these days of recession. Of course, the idea of BMW Runflat tyres was to give the car added safety features.Because, that’s what these tyres do. So it’s understandable that the price of the tyre is more expensive. Because the tyre has more materials in during their manufacture. As a result, with research and development costs to recover.

The runflat tyres have special side walls that are made to take the weight or your can when driven on in a deflated state. (IN OTHER WORDS IF YOU HAVE A PUNCTURE, THE TYRE WILL NOT TEAR UP AND ALLOWS YOU TO GET HOME AT A LOWER SPEED).

If you have a puncture this will sometimes be detected by a tyre deflation warning light.(TPMS) Some drivers are not even aware that they have a puncture, only noticing later that the tyre “looks flat”.

BMW Runflat tyres

If you have a flat tyre do not travel long distances or at high speeds. You can check the correct speed from your local tyre dealer or tyre manufacturers, the usual limit is 50mph but check this out for yourself, check for the speed and distance, then you can travel home safely with the flat tyre. Check your runflat tyres regularly

It is important to check all tyres on a regular basis. Thus, preferably at least every week. This is especially important with runflat tyres. If you don’t have a TPMS system you will not notice that the tyre may be flat or at best have low pressure. When run on, “under inflated” tyres may cause the “inner tyre” to be damaged without detection. But this will be detected with regular pressure checks.

To sum up the BMW Runflat tyres are a great invention. But, I can foresee that all cars will have this safety feature in the future. You must expect to pay more for your runflat tyres because you are getting much more for your money and check your pressures at a regular interval at all times, remember you don’t have a spare wheel.

Kumho tyres offer an excellent runflat tyre.

Pellon Tyre and Autocentre offer car and van servicing and repairs to all makes of vehicles. We are members of Unipart Car Care centres and give a Nationwide guarantee for all our work and parts. We also sell tyres online from our website for BMW Runflat tyres Prices.

Spring Car Servicing-Treat your car to a Spring Treat with a good service

Updated 7/6/2014

Spring Car Servicing; Get Your Car Service After the  long Winter

Spring Car Servicing; Eric Roberts of Pellon Tyre and Autocentre gives his humble advice on good Customer Service on your vehicle or van after our the last cold and wet winter. Even a short engine service will be good for your cars life, and life expectancy, changing your old oil will reinvigorate your cars engine, and prolong its life expectancy.
I think this is the time to think about getting your car serviced, even in these times of recession it will pay you to care your vehicle by having Spring Car Servicing.
This winter as been exceptionally wet on your vehicle. Because of all the torrential rains. We have experienced this spring and winter and the rainy days have probably been forgotten now that Spring Car Servicingwe will be feeling when a bit of warm sun(not yet though we are now in May, and it’s still freezing) on our backs and the spring has arrived.

But your car took some heavy wear and tear on those cold, freezing nights. Your battery, your braking system, your clutch and other items such as the thickness of your cars oil. When your engine is running on thick oil, there is a likelihood of the increase in wear and tear on your engine, and it is important to change the oil as soon as the air temperature starts to rise, this will give your engine an uplift and increase its life expectancy.
Also, the effect that inclement weather has on your clutch and tyres, skidding on slippery surfaces causes massive amounts of premature wear on both these parts of your vehicle; an excellent service will pick up all these points.

Spring Car Servicing

Your Spring Car Servicing should be carried out at a proper service centre, ( look for your nearest Unipart service centre). Many motorists know of a good garage centre and will often pass this information on to their friends and family by word of mouth.
If you are phoning around for prices. I would advise going for the middle range price ( and make sure that the price includes parts and labour).

It is also a good idea to ask the garage/auto centre to keep your old parts for you to examine. Although many of the good centres will do this automatically for you. The cost of your Spring Car Servicing are governed by the size of your car engine. The cubic capacity (CC) usually the prices are split into three, small, medium and large engines. The bigger the car, the more extensive the parts. Therefore, the costlier the service and also diesel engines will be slightly more expensive.
I always recommend that motorists should try and use a garage that may be part of a larger trading group. These organisation often offer excellent guarantees and a sounder peace of mind,” and you cannot beat word of mouth recommendation”. I often give the analogy of buying a cheap tyre”. They look good but never last as long as a premium brand of tyre.
Also with many motorists strapped for cash. I would advise that the least thing you do is to change your engine oil. Consequently, have your brakes checked when you can afford to have your Spring Car Servicing.

Not just a service check your battery as well

If your car battery starts letting you down, change it as soon as possible. Most modern cars have onboard computers. Also, modern engines now have alternators that charge at 14.5 volts and will only work correctly using a maintenance free battery. Your replacement battery should be the best that you can afford, but there are many car batteries for sale at reasonable prices. Try and buy a high-quality maintenance free battery with a three-year warranty at an affordable price; Available at most good websites, with next day

delivery. I hope this is valuable information to you and saves you money on the cost of motoring.

Easter Getaway for-Caravaners-Check Your “Caravan and Motorhome Tyres”before your journey

Easter Getaway for-Caravaners can not stress the importance of your caravan tyres.

Us tyre experts recommend that owners of any trailer vehicles should remove the complete wheel or wheels and take them to their favourite garage or auto centre and have them checked by a professional member of the team, it is important that the wheels  are given a thorough inspection, this will ensure the safest possible

outcome. The most common thing found on caravan tyres is sidewall cracking. This usually only comes to light when the tyre is removed, we can flex the sidewall with the tyre removed from the wheel, and this will show the extent of the cracking. This problem is due to the effect of ultraviolet light acting on the carbon black in the makeup of the tyre when the caravan is parked and is more common in Old Michelin tyres.      This information also applies to motorhomes.

The wheels will be checked for corrosion and the tyres will be removed from the wheels and checked for internal cuts and damage, this is most important as unseen damage can become a nightmare scenario when going down a motorway at sixty mile per hour and losing complete control due to tyre failure.

The tyre dealer will then check the outside of the for damage to the tread area and the sidewalls for cuts and cracks. Also important is to check the age of the tyre, this can be easily done by an expert fitter.Tyres do become out of date after six years and are affected by ageing in the sidewalls.
As stated above cracks start to form around the rim area due to the caravan wheels been stood in the Sun for long hours during the Summer months and eventually the carbon black, that is used in the manufacture of the caravan  tyres, starts to break down and small but deep cracks start to form around the rim area and will eventually join up to create a very dangerous hazard, indeed this is one of the most common cause for tyre blowouts on caravans and trailers. Any caravan tyres with cracks and cuts should be scrapped and replaced with a new tyre. Finally, if everything is OK the pressures and tyre valves should be checked for the correct loading of your vehicle and trailer.

Another important point is to have the vehicle loading checked on your caravan tyres,

to make sure that the wheel set up conforms to your caravan or trailers recommended weight carrying capacity. Some of the larger heavier vehicles require more heavy duty tyres to carry the extra loading, your tyre dealer will advise you on the correct fitments by advising you fit either General re-enforced or larger ply rated ones.
Tyre pressures should always be checked and adjusted when the pressures are cold before every journey. If in doubt, replace with new and correct  caravan tyres.

Kumho Tyres-sponsoring two further German football clubs – Tyrepress.com

In addition to its newly-signed deal with Champions League and German Bundesliga team FC Schalke 04, Kumho Tyres has come on board as tyre partner for two further German clubs. Hamburger SV and Her…

Source: www.tyrepress.com

Kumho tyres are extending what is now a long standing partnership between football clubs and major tyre companies around the world, the big clubs have massive exposure on TV stations and the tyre companies want to be seen supporting football.

http://www.pellontyres.co.uk/Tyre/Brand/1268/KUMHO

Kumho tyres join the trend of Football sponsorship

In line with latest advertising trend of many of the leading tyre companies, Kumho tyres now sponsor a total of two clubs in the German Bundesliga. The three teams that now fly the Kumho flag are now down to two, with the deal at  FC Shalke04, finishing, Kumho have signed a contract to replace them with, Hamburger FC and Hertha BFC and the sponsorship deals are until the end of the 2016-2017 seasons.

Yong-Sung Kim, who is the managing director of Kumho Tyre Europe GmbH, said in an interview, “after recently finalising a long-term partnership with FC Schalke 04, we are now

kumho tyres

Apollo tyres now sponsor Manchester United after the Kumho pullout

pleased to have found in the Hamburger SV a long-established club that we can cooperate with in the coming years. HSV possesses one of the largest fan bases in Germany and we hope to clearly increase our brand awareness with the help of this partnership.”

As a Kumho tyres dealer here in Yorkshire, this is good news. Although the deal is in Germany then we can still see matches and Euro matches on UK TV through the Sky network and this will follow the success of the Kumho tyres sponsorship deal that has recently been finalised with Manchester United.

Kumho tyres Motorsport pulls out of the UK

The sad part of the German football club sponsorship is that Kumho tyres are pulling out of the UK and moving it to Germany. We have given the South Korean tyre company much support in this country and I really wonder if moving out will give them any better sales here in the UK ? Only time will tell.

Another popular budget car tyre maker will be joining Kumho in Germany, and they are the Chinese company of LingLong tyres. LingLong are now a popular name amongst the cheap tyre end of the tyres customer base. They too have joined Kumho into becoming sponsors of the German Bundesliga team “VFL Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg general manager, Thomas Rottgermann commented,” LingLong Tire are placing their fate in the international platform of VFL Wolfsburg – and sustainably so, over a period of at least three years.”

Other tyre orientated tyre sponsorship deals come nearer to home, with Lassa tyres renewing their advertising deal with the English Premier League over another year period. The Lassa adverts will be visible on the LED pitch side boards that surround the pitches of 21 Premier League fixtures.

Also Cooper tyres that are the parent company of Avon tyres, the well-known British tyre brand are to sponsor Arsenal Football Club from the beginning of this season 2014-2015. The

kumho tyres

Cooper tyres and Arsenal link

tyre brand name will be seen on TV all over the globe, watched by football fans during the Champions League games, a great catch for the tyre company.

On the down side Continental tyres have been rumoured to be pulling out of the World Cup sponsorship deal. According to a German newspaper, “in future the tyre maker intends instead to solely sponsor regional confederations, such as Europe’s UEFA. This change to the company’s multimillion commitment is also said to apply to the next World Cup. “

Watch this space, as they say.
