From groceries, to holiday shopping, or just personal shopping you can take your mobility scooter along, and enjoy your day out  at the the shopping centre.

Advantages Of Owning A mobility Scooter for disabled person are Vast

The advantages for the elderly and people with disabilities, of owning a scooter include the ability to be more independent. You probably would not want to wait for your children to take you shopping or do your shopping for you all the time, but with a mobility scooter, you can get out and about and do the shopping yourself (especially the ladies).

A scooter with good Mobility Scooter Batteries can be used to take you right into the store. If you live in town or city, near the store, you can ride your scooter to the store (weather permitting),then you can shop while riding the scooter and carry your goods home on your scooter. A  mobility scooter is a great way of giving those who are unable to walk due to illness or those who are unable to walk long distances without the ability to be self-dependent. I recently did an article about the large amount of these scooters there were in Benidorm Spain and they are also used in large numbers of mobility scooters in the USA.

While owning or renting your own scooter. So, you don’t have to disinfect the scooter in the store where you are shopping. Sometimes accidents and spills will happen such as a broken bottle or a burst packet of peas. Whilst in the retail setting leaving you with a scooter that may not be very clean,or sanitized. If you were to purchase your own scooter, you will feel more comfortable, and it would only need cleaning.

Using your own scooter with good Mobility Scooter Batteries, instead of renting also means you have the advantage of always having a scooter that has fully charged batteries and is ready to go. Often there are times when those who are disabled will enter a retail centre only to find the scooters batteries become flat and are out of power, and become useless. To give yourself the freedom of mobility with a fully charged scooter battery, buy your own scooter and leave all your worries behind you.

Owning your own mobility scooter must be the best way

Mobility Scooter Batteries = freedom for the elderly and disabled

Owning your own scooter gives you the choice of  being familiar with your  scooter. . Riding a scooter you are not familiar with (a rented one). So, can at times be a little awkward. Especially, until you learn how to use the controls.

The retail scooters that you can rent at a shopping centre are big, bulky. Not cutting corners very well. Hence, by having your own scooter. Consequently, it is going to allow you the freedom to travel. Of course, especially in the retail setting. While still feeling at home on your own scooter

Therefore, you can make the seat adjustments. So, to fit your own body size and shape on the scooter. Whilst adjusting the handle bars and the controls to your personal liking. Knowing, that the scooter settings will stay that way.

Subsequently, there will be no need to keep adjusting the seat. Especially, after other people have been using it. Because you are the only one who is using your scooter.

Your personal scooter is just like your car, your personal transportation, and like a car you need a good set of Mobility Scooter Batteries.

eric roberts‘s insight:

We  also gave a gift of two Free gift mobility Batteries ?

Just before Christmas. I was delivering a car battery to a customer in Dingle Lancashire the UK. Subsequently, I happened to take the the wrong turning into the neighbors drive. Soon, I realised that I was at the wrong delivery address. Because all that was there was a small wooden stable and a horse.

Consequently, I got out of the van. Soon, I was approached by a lady in her late fifties. To my surprise, she had lost her legs below her knees. As a result, she was walking on her knee stumps. The lady was stood up but only came up to my chest in height. My delivery van is covered with large pictures of mobility batteries for advertising. I noticed that the lady spotted this.

She asked me the price of batteries for her mobility scooter. Unfortunately, she said that she could not afford to buy any new batteries. As her present 12 Volt Battery was old and running down. For this reason, I felt very sad for lady.Hence, and continued to next door to deliver the car battery. Eileen is severely disabled after having both legs amputated. In a motorcycle accident. For this reason, her only means of getting about was on her mobility scooter. Which is battery powered. She does not have any prosthetic limbs for whatever reason. Eileen, relies totally on her mobility scooter. It was very strange to see her mount the scooter.Because she has developed a special knack for lifting herself up. Using, her now very strong arms.

Free gift mobility Batteries

The guy next door told me that Eileen could not afford to buy any new scooter batteries. Especially as how she was practically house bound. This pulled at my heartstrings. Therefore, being a good Christian i decided to give her two Free gift mobility Batteries. I returned to my stores in Halifax, Yorkshire UK and collected the two Free gift mobility Batteries to give to Eileen. I would have been choked to give her the  Free gift mobility Batteries direct and so i called into Eileen’s

neighbour who had bought the original battery.

The guy in and when i told him what i was doing he had a tear in his eye. I gave him the Free gift mobility Batteries, to give to Eileen, when i had gone back to Yorkshire. He telephoned me the next day to say that she could not believe what i had done for her, and she sent me a lovely Christmas card.

As an update to this Eileen is still going strong and looks after some horses for a good friend, she is still getting about on her mobility scooter and the Mobility scooter batteries, that i gave her are also  still going strong.

Mobility Scooter Batteries-Will Lithium-Ion batteries Replace Lead Acid Batteries

Mobility Scooter Batteries

New help for Mobilty Scooter batteries users

The advent of the “Lithium-Ion” battery will be a great relief to many users of the mobility vehicles. The 12 Volt Batteries that are

Mobility Scooter Batteries

Mobility Scooter Batteries may come out in Lithium-Ion shortly

traditionally used in this type of vehicle have always been a problem. Especially for the people that use these machines for getting about on. I would hate to think of the amount of these machines that have been caught out with a flat battery? Stuck half way on a journey and having to be rescued by a friend or relation.

Also, they have the problem of the weight of these batteries. Even the 12 volts 12 amp AGM Battery are hefty. Especially relevant, to injured or physically challenged person. The 18 amp and 26 amp are even very heavy to an able body person, so things have got to get better and for some mobility vehicle owners they just did.

From Mars landing to Mobility Scooter Batteries

One such use was presented to an American company.  Yardney Technical Products who were asked by NASA to design a new Mobility Scooter Battery. This had to be  much lighter and stronger than the

This micro -hybrid battery will be used on mobility scooters in the future

lead acid battery. This new type of battery was to be utilised for the new stealth aircraft and later for space exploration. Now the battery has been developed for more everyday uses such as mobility scooter batteries.

The lithium batteries that are now available as Mobility Scooter Batteries. Mobility users come in the form of a single 24 volt 10 amp lithium battery. This replaces two a Lucas LSLC 20-12 10- lead acid batteries. The single battery only weighs 2.4 kg compared with the pair of Lucas weighing in at 12 kg, very much lighter in weight. The battery also requires a special charger which is a 24 volt 3 amp including all the connectors. The big advantage of the new Mobility Scooter Batteries is that they will do 2000 cycles. Compared to 300 cycles for the Lucas lead acid battery, and although the initial cost is higher, you will be saving in weight and much more power in the long run.

For more information about the lithium-Ion battery.

“The Mobility Scooter Batteries works on ion movement. This is  between the positive and negative electrodes. In theory such a mechanism should work forever. Furthermore, cycling, elevated temperature and aging decrease the performance over time. Finally, batteries are used in demanding environmental conditions. In addition, battery manufacturers take a conservative approach and specify the life of most Li-ion between 300 and 500 discharge/charge cycles”… http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries

Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries- Absorbed Glass Mat batteries AGM are now a very popular battery

Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries

Many people think that GEL and Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries are the same

Many people buying new golf batteries or mobility batteries. Therefore, believe that the two types of battery are the same. They are very similar.Hence, they are a deep cycle with a low discharge. Because they do not spill they are classed as sealed. Therefore, may be mounted in any position. For this reason, are safe to use in a confined area. Naturally, and may be carried safely.

Absorbed Glass Mat batteries. Are filled with a type of fibreglass material. As expected, that is fitted inside the battery and then soaked with the electrolyte between the batteries plates. Therefore, this makes the battery leak proof. In other words, if the battery casing is broken.Accordingly, then no acid will leak out. This type of battery is also the most popular here in

Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries

Lucas Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries used for mobility scooters

the UK (in my opinion this is due to the price difference) these are usually much cheaper batteries, in particular with the golfing fraternity.

Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries

GEL batteries have filled a type of silica gel mixed with the electrolyte making a thick jelly that allows the electrons to flow through the plates. Once again as in the other kind, they do not leak when the casing is broken.

One of the most common reasons. Thus, for people using the Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries. Is it can give out a high burst of amps if required to do so. Of course, they can also be charged with a standard battery charger. So, and an alternator if necessary. Also, they have a longer life expectancy.Especially, if these batteries are not fully discharged between discharges. In my opinion, this is a mistake that people make, they fully discharge their batteries too often causing premature failure, I think that people should keep a backup battery as a spare so as to not allow their batteries to become too discharged.

GEL batteries as stated before cost more than Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries

But offer better-working conditions.Especially, in hotter climates. Although, this does not affect us here in the UK. The big problem with gel batteries is that they must be charged correctly. Hence, or failure will follow. If you have a GEL charger then stick to a GEL battery. For this reason, they are designed especially for these types of battery. GEL  should not be charged with an alternator. Unless appropriate adjustments are made. Another battery that is starting to appear in the marketplace. Naturally, is the Lithium-Ion battery. So, watch out for this one.
To conclude. We think that Absorbed Glass Mat. Now has the upper hand and unless you only have an own charger on your golf buggy or mobility scooter you would be better off buying AGM.

22 Amp Mobility Batteries saved the day for Child’s Christmas Present

Two new 22 Amp Mobility Batteries saved the day.

Every now and then we get a letter from a customer who needs our help. Sometimes we do not know if they are genuine or just some person trying it on. Last Christmas we learned about

22 Amp Mobility Batteries

22 Amp Mobility Batteries ready to go

a lady in Lancashire called Eileen. I bumped into Eileen when delivering a battery to a customer’s house and she was in the property next door, tending to her friends horse (cleaning the stables out). Eileen looked very short and I noticed that she had no legs.

When Eileen saw the battery signage on my van she came over and told me that she had a wheel chair but could not afford to buy any. This tugged on my heart strings and as soon as I got back to Halifax, I sorted out two new 34 amp Lucas mobility batteries at took them back to Lancashire to give to Eileen as a Christmas present. I had to leave the batteries with the guy next door because Eileen was not at home, but a couple of days later, I received a very nice thank you letter in the form of a Christmas card from Eileen.

Child’s tri-cycle fitted with his new 22 amp mobility batteries

Then a similar thing happened just before this Christmas 2013. We received an e-mail from a guy in Devon who was making a three wheel electric bike for his sons Christmas present.  He had problems with another online company who had sent him the wrong batteries. For some reason the company could not be contacted online or by telephone. I also tried out this company, but could not get any reply.

Mobility batteries sent out to Devon

His son was a very ill young man and so this bike was going to mean the World to him as he needed one with a small electric battery driven engine, his son could not peddle like a healthy child could. The guy was desperate and had no money and asked us for help. I remembered what had happened to Eileen the year before and so decided to give him two 22 Amp Mobility Batteries, which fitted his bike.

The guy in Devon was over the moon and could not thank us enough for our help. His son had a Christmas present that worked thanks to the 22 Amp Mobility Batteries and I was pleased to be able to help someone in distress.
