It has always been a problem for the guys.Hence, that go out at night in the countryside looking for things to hunt. Usually vermin. This rural activity is often referred to as Lamping Rabbits. The general idea is to stalk the animal say a fox. Consequently, by using a lamp with a strong beam. So is pointed at the animal. Thus, the animal will then freeze in the bright light. The animal is then shot. For this reason, this is usually aimed at vermin. Such as foxes, rats and in some areas rabbits. Hence, that may have a population problem and the numbers need to be culled. The lamp that they use is usually powered by a 7amp UPS battery, the type that is used in backup power systems, but these small lamping batteries are lead acid batteries and therefore start to become very heavy, especially in the dark when you are walking through undergrowth and in hilly woodland. Some lampers also carry a spare battery or two, so they tend to get very heavy.

These batteries are much more powerful than there lead acid counterpart and are much lighter to carry around. The battery charger is also supplied and must be used with the lithium lamping batteries normal lead acid charger will not work with the lithium battery. The downside will be the initial cost , but the lithium battery comes with a two year manufacturers warranty and is more powerful and will last much longer with an added bonus of been very much lighter to carry, in my opinion the lead acid UPS battery will not have a look in compared with the new battery the lithium battery
