Peugeot 3008 Fitted with Falken ZIEX ZE320 Tyres in Halifax

Well, would you believe it? Just after we had fitted four Falken all-season tyres to a Citroën C3 Aircross, another customer arrived at Pellon Tyre & Autocentre for Falken tyres. This time it was a Peugeot 3008, and the choice was the Falken ZIEX ZE320 in size 215/55R17.

It gave us two Falken jobs close together but for two different types of driving. The Citroën owner wanted all-season tyres. The Falken ZIEX ZE320 chosen for this Peugeot is a summer tyre. That difference matters, especially here in Halifax, where customers often ask us which tyre will suit their journeys best.

The Peugeot 3008 has become a familiar family car around Halifax and Calderdale. It offers the space people want for shopping, passengers and days out, while still being manageable on the roads and in the car parks we use every day.

The Peugeot 3008 has changed considerably over the years. The second generation, introduced in 2016, gave it a more striking SUV shape and the distinctive i-Cockpit dashboard. More recently, Peugeot has introduced another new generation. Whichever version a customer brings us, we check the tyre specification for that particular car before fitting anything.

I can see why a car like the 3008 appeals to local drivers. It’s at home on a run through Halifax, heading over towards Brighouse or carrying the family out into the Calder Valley. Those journeys can include busy town streets, faster roads and plenty of bends and hills. Good tyres deserve some thought.

What sort of tyre is the Falken ZIEX ZE320?

The ZIEX ZE320 is Falken’s summer tyre for everyday road use. A summer tyre is intended to perform in mild and warm conditions, including wet weather. That last point is useful in Yorkshire: “summer” certainly doesn’t mean we only drive on dry roads!

Falken has designed the ZE320 with attention to wet grip, comfort and road noise. Those are things customers often ask about. They want the car to feel steady on a rainy journey and comfortable when they’re travelling a bit further afield.

The ZE320 has also done well in tyre tests. That’s encouraging, but I always remind customers that the best choice depends on their own car and how they use it. A driver who frequently sets off early on freezing mornings, or regularly tackles snowy hills, might want to talk to us about all-season or winter tyres instead.

The 215/55R17 marking tells us the tyre’s width, sidewall profile and wheel diameter. There are other markings to check too, including its load and speed ratings. We check these against the vehicle’s requirements when supplying and fitting tyres.
