Falken Wildpeak M/T Tyres Fitted to a Ford Ranger – A Proper Job for Halifax Roads and Beyond

Last week at Pellon Tyres, we had a cracking-looking blue Ford Ranger come in for a free tyre check.

Now, we always say it’s worth popping in for a quick look over, especially with the state of some of the roads around Halifax and Calderdale. Potholes, rough tracks, and the odd muddy lane up towards Ogden or over the tops can take their toll.

Sure enough, this Ranger needed two new tyres.

After a bit of advice and a good chat, the owner decided to go for a proper upgrade — fitting two 265/60R18 119/116Q Falken Wildpeak M/T tyres.

And I’ve got to say… a great choice 👍

A Tyre Built for Proper Work: Ford Ranger for Falken Tyres

Falken Wildpeak M/T

These aren’t your average road tyres. The Falken Wildpeak M/T is what we call a mud-terrain tyre, built for drivers who need something tougher than standard all-terrain options.

They’re designed to handle just about anything you throw at them:

  • Deep mud
  • Loose gravel
  • Rocky tracks
  • Snow and rough conditions

The tread pattern is aggressive, with big chunky blocks that bite into soft ground, while the tyre also has reinforced sidewalls to cope with harsh conditions and heavy loads.

One thing I like about these Falkens is that they’re not just for off-road use. Despite looking quite rugged, they’re still surprisingly decent on normal roads thanks to their tread design.

So for someone using a pickup for both work and everyday driving – ideal.

Perfect Match for Ford Ranger for Falken Tyres

The Ford Ranger is one of those vehicles that’s really taken off over here in the UK.

Although the Ranger name actually dates back to the early 1980s in America, it didn’t properly arrive in the UK market until around 1998.

Back then, pickups were mainly workhorses — builders, farmers, and tradesmen.

But things have changed a lot.

These days, the Ranger has become a bit of an all-rounder:

  • Work during the week
  • Family use at weekends
  • Towing, camping, and outdoor life

Modern versions are packed with comforts you’d expect in a car but still keep that tough pickup ability with a proper load bed and strong towing capability.

It’s no surprise really that the Ranger has become one of the most popular pickups on UK roads.

And around Calderdale, you can see why — whether it’s builders working in town, farmers up in the hills, or folk just wanting something solid for winter driving.
