Ford Zephyr a fine Ford to remember
Andy Mawdsley MOT tester at Pellon Autocentre in Halifax West Yorkshire, is a great fan of earlier Ford classic cars.
Andy recently visited a Ford Classic show in Blackpool, not too far away from his home in Burnley. Andy actually owns a Ford Capri, a car that I have covered in an earlier blog. This Ford Zephyr was one of the oldest on show, so he decided to take a few pictures for Pellons blog. This particular one was a 1962 to 1966 Mk3 and shared the same mechanics as the Ford Zodiac. When I think back this Ford Zephyr would have been driving around at the time when England won the world cup at football, great memories for me and millions of other England fans.
The car exterior of this Ford Zephyr was designed by the same guy who designed the Ford Cortina, Roy Brown. This car was a big car and had a big engine go with it, a 2553cc cranking up some 20 horse power .
The picture from Blackpool is also a Ford Zephyr estate car.
This car was fitted with discs at the front and drums at the rear, and could reach a top speed of just over 100 mph reaching 0 to 60 in just over 13 seconds. Thanks to Andy for the Pictures at www.pellonautocentre.com
